How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

Anyone have any leads on a TRD Pro (not green) that's actually available? Long shot, I know...

Someone ran into one of my cars and totaled it and I need to replace it soon. Wasn't planning on buying a new car right now but here we are. Insurance already stopped paying for the rental, so I'm down a car which is why I can't wait 6-8 months. One of my local dealers says they have 52 people on a wait list for one and they all have deposits (I don't believe him but whatever).

Even if you can find a Pro, you're going spend to a massive amount over MSRP. Think $3K-10K. If you can stomach it, I'd buy a cheap beater and drive it for 4-6 months and weather this storm of automotive insanity. The market is going to tank this summer. A recession in eminent, interest rates will continue their climb, the chip shortage will start to improve in ~July, and the Ukraine war will get worse before it gets better. As such, prices will drop and vehicles will become more available.

I just bought a 2022 TRD Pro in Lime Rush from a central Ohio dealer for MSRP and no additional add-ons. I had no trade-in either.

I originally reached out to the dealer in August 2021 and got on their “list.” I was first in line for a Lime Rush Pro.

I was told MSRP back in August (they required no deposit) and they honored MSRP when it arrived five months later. :rockon:

I just purchased another 4Runner from the same dealer I bought the above mentioned TRD Pro.

I wasn't planning on it, but I was watching their website and they happened to get one in that wasn't already spoken for. Pretty rare to be honest.

So, this time I bought a 2022 TRD Off-Road Premium at MSRP + $250 doc fee. No other add-ons. I traded in the 2018 ORP for more than anyone else offered (Carvana, Carmax, or Vroom). They gave me $4k less than I paid for the 2018 new which now has about 50k miles. I was quite pleased with the deal.

FWIW, they are really only selling to in-state buyers. They said Toyota has been discouraging dealers from selling out-of-state.

Congrats on your purchase and another great find at a great price.

If Toyota wants to discourage dealers from selling to out-of-state buyers they should also discourage dealers from exorbitant market adjustments and markups. It wasn't my choice to look/purchase out of state but I wasn't going to pay $20k over MSRP. I'd much rather purchase locally.

I bought a 22 TRDOR Prem for 50220 minus trade equity. It was a $1995 bump. I got visors and emblem Black out kit. Other dealers near me were charging 5k over even on SR5’s

I paid way too much for my 2021 Trail, but I was desperate for a vehicle and this seemed like a good compromise of a vehicle. I regret not waiting a bit longer for something cheaper.

I ordered a TRD Off-Road since I didn't care for the additions on a ORP. I said I didn't care what color as long as it was TRD OR. Dealer texted me saying they had a Lunar Rock ORP with moonroof and asked if I was interested.

I ended up taking it, and I'm happy I did. I'm guessing it wasn't an order someone else backed out of since the dealer said they could add or subtract add ons while it was still at the port.

In 2018, we bought a brand new 2018 SR5 4wd with dealer installed Toytec front spacer lift and rear Toytec coils with 285 Bf Goodrich A/T's for $4200 off MSRP plus $500 doc fee, tax, tag, title. They also had a base silver 2018 Off Road for $1800 off because the demand for Off Road's are high here, always have been.

Fast forward to today, we just ordered a base Off Road with hood film & sliding deck for $43,419(msrp) plus $225 doc fee, tax, tag, title. Paid $500 to order and that will be taken off the MSRP once it gets here.

Looking for an SR5 Premium with 3rd row and NO moonroof (head was hitting moonroof side), which has been hard to find in the Northeast. Working with a few dealers in Albany, NY region. Put a deposit down a few weeks ago with a local dealer and one dealer across the state line in Vermont, since they are in a different sales region.

Vermont called a few days ago with an allocation, only issue is that it has over $1k plus of extra accessories, but at MSRP. Asked them if anything can be swapped out, they are claiming the accessories are already added on. Oh well. Next ask tomorrow will be to swap out the Bridgestone Duelers tires for Nitto Grappler G2 or Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac and see if I can get any deal on TRD wheels, not crazy about SR5 wheels. Trying to see if I can put to use the alloy wheel locks they added on.

I will probably end up taking off the OEM Rock Rails (PT22889190 - Rock Rails - Right - Genuine Toyota Accessory) and sell/trade them since they are not very useful as a step for my kids, at least what I am reading so far.

Yeah I was honestly expecting them to play dumb, and that when I show up to pick up the car all the add ons would still be there. But no, they actually followed through and it was a pretty pleasant experience.

Really depends on the dealer. A dealer in San Francisco I spoke to had an ORP that was close to what we wanted, but every ORP they had in their allocation had the TRD Pro exhaust. I said forget it, but he replied they would swap it out for the stock one and drop the price. Pleasantly surprised and unexpected. But they charge $3500 over MSRP for all their ORPs, so we never followed up
OTOH, the dealer we actually bought our ORP from couldn't add much that we did want, like TRD Pro wheels. He said they couldn't swap out the standard TRD Off Road wheels, they would have to charge us on top of the cost of the vehicle, just like if we walked into the Parts Dept. to purchase them for a vehicle we already owned.

When I first got into an ORP at the dealer, most had moonroofs. When I got in one, my head immediately hit the ceiling like our '99. But was able to adjust it so now I don't even think about it. It can definitely open up more vehicle inventory to look at if you're not a hard No on the moonroof.

Took me a few tries with the power seat on our ORP. Nice thing is you can drop the height. Of course that changes the sight lines of everything. But it just may be that the 4Runner moonroof drops the ceiling too much. I know the view from the back seat makes the 5th Gen ceiling drop with a moonroof look like more than our 3rd Gen.

I really like our Off Road Premium. The heated Softex seats are great so far and Blind Spot and Cross Traffic Monitors are very helpful. HD and XM Radio are nice addition to the Premium as well. You can also get the Multi Terrain Monitor 3D camera system (Premuim Plus Package). Resolution isn't great, but think it's probably good enough to be very helpful parking and off-roading.
