Those Required PNW packages is Markup. Some packages are $5000 for some interior protection or paint coating. So in reality you are not paying even close to MSRP when they jam “mandatory” packages down your throat.
I did think about that and tried it with a used model, just couldn’t find a right spot I liked. I’m 6’2 and it seems to be hit and miss with sun/moon roof. I currently have a CX-9 and have no issue, I looked at a Ford Edge ST a few years ago and had the same problem.
I'm 6' 2" and have 34" inseam. I have no issues fitting comfortably in my wife's 2020 4Runner ORP with the moonroof. I have about 3" of room above my head at the lower part of the ceiling. All sight lines are fine too.
There is WAY more headroom in the 4runner compared to the Tacoma. With that truck, you're sitting on the floor and still headroom is at a premium. It's very odd.

As a refresher question to keep this thread alive, has anyone seen markups on the “less backordered” models like the Limited or Nightshade?

Nightshade model is gone, unless you're talking used...and yes, to answer your question.
Picked up a SR5 Premium 4WD after a few weeks wait for MSRP + dealer added window tint, wheel locks and useless 'appearance package' (aka world's most expensive tube of wax) at Toyota of Cedar Park in Texas. This was the best deal I could find around the Central Texas area. Most other dealers were marking up 3-5k and weren't even trying to pretend it was for anything valuable (Toyota of North Austin was adding $3500 for '24 month maintenance and 3 year warranty, which is obviously included in the MSRP).
Horrible time to buy a car, but we were in a situation where we needed one.
