So, I've had my 4Runner for 4 months now and I'm loving it! No surprise, right?!

Today's question, and I'm sure there might be similar questions out there posted before, however I'm looking for answers that are more relevent to the "now", not from 1, 2, or more years ago.

If you purchased your 4th Gen 4Runner within the last 6-9 months, listing your trim, size and year and mileage, what was your purchase price??? And most importantly, list region of the country. Notate any mods if necessary. Or any other relevent facts.

I purchased my 2007 Toyota 4Runner SR5 V6 in Snohomish, WA in late July at a hair over $16,000. The ride had 104k miles on it, Toyo OC AT's with probably a year's worth of tread left on it. Clean title, carfax and maint. records.... No accidents, clean inside and out and within the motor compartment. As well as a clean rust-free undercarriage. Did I get a decent deal???

The reason I pose this question is:

Seems like the prices vary so radically coast to coast, so I'm kind of wondering how much.

Also, I'm wondering how I stack up compared to local peeps...

i got mine like 10 days ago. 07 4wd limited v8. 70k miles. everything on it is brand new, and it is essentially showroom condition. i paid $20k even for it

Brand new you say....on a 6yr / 70K mile vehicle? Remind me not to buy a car from you on eBay. :nono:
 
Paid $18.5k for my stock 2006 Limited 4x4 V8 with JBL/no nav and 80k miles last spring.

I think I did pretty good, the dealer originally wanted $23k. I did my research and offered $18.5k, they balked so I walked out. 2 days later they called me up and took my original offer.
 
Bought 1 month ago in Georgia. 2007 Sport 4WD 81k miles 1 owner and clean carfax. Paid $17.4k. Came with 3/4 tread Nitto Terra Grapplers, brand new front rotors/pads.

Nice! Wow, you really got them to sway! I think it's awesome how you have his and her models. Funny how you have the more power (V8) and the lux model, and the lady has the base model SR5 with V6.

I too did my research, examining KBB and NADA and using our in-house system at work (Credit Union) and I purchased the model for a fair price. But, I see a wide range in price... I'm hoping to see some NW (Wash or Oregon) peeps chime in....
 
Bought my super clean 2006 sport 4wd about 2 months ago with 84k miles for 18k out the door. 1 owner, clean carfax, leather, power everything, JBL, and almost brand new michelin tires.

It was only on the lot for 6 hours and the dealer still came off the price a good bit. And it was the exact color, trim and had 4wd like I wanted
 
Picked up my 2005 Sport V6 4WD, JBL no nav at 109k miles in July for $13.2k. I'm 3rd owner but the previous owners took great care of it. Every fluid I changed had clearly been done regularly/recently and the 4wd actuator had been replaced by Toyota at a dealership within the last year for $2200. Tires had less than 3k miles on them per the receipt in the glove box. Clean carfax, minimal rust - extremely clean underneath. The dealer I bought it from had just gotten it in as a trade and listed it as an SR5, they didn't realize it was a Sport. That helped the price but hurt because they never got a chance to thoroughly clean it. The p.o. was a dog owner and there was a decent amount of hair in the cargo area. I'd rather save a grand or so and clean it myself than let them realize they undersold it and clean the hell out of it after it sat around for a day or three. I'm in the Va Beach area of VA.

Purchased my 2005 SR5 V6 4WD in mid November. Paid $14,600 before taxes and fees. It had 73,500 miles on it, was a one owner car, full service records, and a clean carfax report. Overall condition I would say is "very good". I bought it at a Mazda dealer in Fairfax, VA.

The dealer was asking $16,200 but I managed to haggle them down. I also managed to get financing through them at 3.59% for 48 months. Couldn't believe I got that good a rate on a 9 year old truck. That's better than my credit union would do.

Very happy with my purchase.

Aftermarket leather and sunroof, jbl no nav
Dealer replaced transmission at 143k
Spent in the last 6 months
Tires, wheels, suspension, v8 tb/wp service, both manifolds, all four o2 sensors. About $3500 worth of upgrades and maintenance.

To me still a good deal since the wear and tear items were upgrades.

Wow... great job on moving that price down. I think non-toyota dealers can be a hidden spot to pick up a 4Runner. I bought mine at Bickford Ford in Snohomish, WA. It had been there for awhile, surrounding by F150's and other domestics.... the big tag sticker price was still hanging around with the original price they had listed at $17,999. But, at $16,999, I gave it a look... and worked it down to $16,149. There were some local used car lots that had plenty of 4th Gen models, but man, they were all trashed.... plastic parts inside cracked or broken, weird smells or stains, dints, bruises, corrided parts in the motor compartment, rust and/or broken roof rack pieces, etc. I purchased mine for the pure fact that it was super, super clean. Honestly, I would have preferred a Sport or LTD, preferbly with sunroof and leather. I miss it!!!! And I miss heater mirrors and seats. Oh well, everything else is great!

On another note..... seems like prices can really change between 03-06 models and the 07-08 models. Dealers seem to ask a pretty penny for the 07-08 models. If someone finds a super clean 03-06 with low miles at a good price, those seem to actually be more of a value. Personally, I just wanted newer since I was moving from an 01 Lexus.

Thanks. I also looked at a lot of beat down trucks. Same things, a lot of rust, broken interior pieces, missing parts, etc. Most of these were in the $11,000-$13,000 range.

All of the Toyota dealers in my area had newer 4Runners on the lot, and they were all pretty much over $20,000. My goal was to stay under $15,000, and I came close. After taxes, dealer fees, registration, and gap insurance I was at $16,100 out the door.
 
I purchased a bra new 2014 4runner SR5 4x4 with 3rd row seat for $33,000,00 equip with running board on early September 2013 the MSRP was 36,800,00 but i got this awesome deal from a friend who work as a salesman for Toyota dealership. He give me one of best deal on my 4runner(3500)because my family been buying 3-4 car from him as a sale man. :thumb:

magnetic gray metallic with black and gray interior.
everything else is stock..
 
Bought mine early September , 2008 Urban runner V6 very clean with 72k miles one it, certified for 100k miles or 2015 for $20k. Massachusetts

See, and that's what I'm so curious about. Are 4Runner's more expensive in certain areas of the country? Cuz, I've heard of numbers like yours. Or is it a difference between the 03-06 models vs 07/08? When I was shopping, I wasn't so super interested in the older 4th Gen models, buuuuut, I did consider them, knowing Toyota's reputation. I could have potentially purchased a 03-06 with say 80k instead of my 07 at 104k.... but, I just wanted "newer". The thing is.... those older models were still in the low to mid teens.

On a somewhat related note, while I like the LED tail lights on the newer models, I like the 03-06 bumper rear bumper better, with the lower lights (or are they just reflectors)
