How much is too much?

As the title infers, what do you guys consider to be the most lift you should go with 32" tires? I am changing my setup but don't want to end up too high for my current tires. My tires only have 25k miles on them, I'll probably get close to two more years out of them. I will go bigger then, but don't want to buy new tires until these are gone.

I am somewhat considering the same thing, considering OW or converting my bilstein stuff to Toytec Ultimate. I'm going to try to keep the same height until my tires wear out as well. Then crank up the front COs when they do and upgrade to 275 or 285s.

If it's not scrubbing now, why do you want to lift more? I think the least lift with biggest tires (without scrubbing) usually looks best.

I think any amount of suspension only lift looks fine with 32's. Things start looking weird when you add a body lift with 32's, though.

I'll let you know in a few minutes when I pick up my truck. Just went up 3" in the front and 2" in the back and added 32's.

What's your intended use? If for looks - the minute it starts to change the driving dynamics IMO. Whether that be bump steer or poor highway manners due to difficulties getting it aligned with the stock UCAs

Here it is. I just picked it up.
FJ Springs, Bilstein 5100's on the top setting, 1.5" spacer in the rear. I also have 1.25" wheel spacers too.

No rubbing at the moment. I'm going to have at minimum a 3/2 suspension lift. I'm going to be ordering a body lift soon in preparation for down the road. I'm debating whether to go ahead and instal the body lift of just hold on to it. I know it'll bother me having it stored at home and not installed but that's probably the best option. I'll admit its mostly looks, but will get used during hunting season. I don't off road per say, just go through what I have to in order to get to my hunting spots.

Thanks for the pic. I current ly have almost the same setup except I'm on the 3rd notch on the 5100s. I think with the older style flat fenders we can pull off more than those with the rounded ones.

For the most part the highest lift you want to go with its going to be determined by wheel clearance, suspension travel, usage requirements, ect. You're lowest point will always be the differential, so lifting your vehicle is only going to benefit you as long as the differential goes up as well for the most part.

Of course then there are other things like body lifts to fit larger tires, long travel suspensions, ect. The basic idea, IMO is to lift the vehicle to gain the maximum clearance (from diff to ground in my eyes), while retaining a decent suspension geometry, and not lifting your center of gravity any higher than it has to be.

What He Said ....Doesnt make sense to do a body lift at all if as you said no real off roading ..Etc. just my .02 I run 33" tires and an OMe Kit .clearance is not an issue and you really do want the center of gravity as low as you can ..you need to understand how independent front suspension and weight transfer effects these vehicles.( not saying you dont ,but its important)
