The demand isn't nearly as high for a 2WD rig. You are correct though, it's worth whatever a buyer is willing to pay.

I'd agree. The places that seem to have some of the craziest prices (Colorado and Western WA), 4wd is definitely the one that people are willing to pay a premium for.

I am just planning to repaint for $2,000 and replace the moldings and including windshield molding but I bought new tires BF Goodrich ko2

Having shopped for a 3rd gen recently up and down the state, and then bought one, I can tell you the prices are all over the map. Now, the demand for a 2WD 4-cylinder may not be all that great, just to be brutally honest. Most people (myself included) who are actively looking for a 3rd gen are doing so with these criteria in mind:
- 4WD
- 3.4 L V6
- Reasonable mileage (below 200k, but willing to accept more if service records are immaculate)
- Useful, tasteful mods (proper lift, proper wheel/tire setup, armor bumpers, roof racks, etc)
Seeing that you are in LA, if you are putting the car up on CL, I would cross the city limit and hit all over Cali., in lower income areas, like San Bernardino, IE, Bako, Fresno. Majority of the good ones in Cali are in Sac and SF. LA has good ones also, but they tend to command crackpipe prices.
Don't even paint it and put it up for $4k and see what happens. Sure, it's high, but like other posters said, you can always lower the price.

Yeah, I wouldn't bother painting it, leave that as is. You're not likely to get enough more out of it to pay for it.

As mentioned, 2WD and 4 cylinder limit the price potential. KO2's might have been an overshoot on making their cost back in a sale as well, since it's 2WD. Most people who would care and like and appreciate the KO2's on it are also looking for 4WD.

Just a heads up you would probably get more money in the end by leaving the paint/mouldings etc.. the money you spend on that stuff you will not get back in the sale most likely, I could be wrong but if you could sell the 4runner as is for 4000$ a 2000$ paint job isn’t going to make it worth 6000$ Imo..
