How much lift needed for 255/80r17 tires

Bit of help please.

I would like to get some taller tires (Falken Wildpeak, 255/80r17), but am not sure if they will fit. I have Fox 2.5 DSC coilovers, but I don’t know how much lift.

Can you tell how much lift I might have by the photo?

Can I fit the 255/80’s?

Any thoughts on the topic appreciated!

I have seen guys running 255/80's with not lift. So I would think you should be fine.

That's about 2" of lift from the factory. I had Foxes before I switched to Kings. Fox and King set their coilovers at 2" lift for the Tacomas and 4Runners since they say it is a ideal height for up and down travel. Anymore you're on your own.

BTW I have 255/80/17 on my 4Runner and it's set at 2.5" No issues with rubbing either.

The shop I spoke with gave me a quote for around $350 to adjust the coilovers to fit the tires. If 2 inches of lift will fit the 255/80’s, that will save some dough.

So, I guess the new question is; Will a 2” lift be enough to fit the new tires without rubbing. The research continues lol. Cheers.

I have this tire size with a minimal lift (approx. 2") and have no issues whatsoever.

Most of the rub with bigger tires is because 285's are wider. Since you are running Pizza Cutters, you should be fine with no rubbing.
