How much should a lift kit install cost for a shop to do it?

Nothing extreme, have shrockworks winch bumper, will be adding a winch, have 265/70r17 bfg ats and love em. Want to add a rear bumper w spare carrier, a couple of gas cans, a high lift jack and an extra spare on roof and some rock sliders. I know what I need kinda, lift wise but how much should I be spending on install cost alone just for the lift?

Shop rates vary greatly so it's hard to say for sure, but I'd count on 3-4 hours of labor.

The local Offroad shop here quotes 5hrs + alignment

I completed my install in 4hrs by myself.

If you have a garage/tools it's really not that bad of a job. I've done two lifts on my 4Runner... 1st was swapping FJ coils onto the XREAS shocks with front spacers, 2nd was replacing that with the Toytec Ultimate kit. The 2nd was much simpler seeing that it was just a 'remove and replace' scenario and it also took me about four hours by myself... start-to-finish. Then I drove it to Firestone for the lifetime alignment deal. Most shops told me that I couldn't lift a 4Runner with XREAS so I just did it myself. From what i've seen, I think that you'll get quotes between 4-5 hours of shop time so depending on shop rates, you could probably expect a range of $240 - $400 for installation (based on $60-80 per hour). It really depends on the lift and the place. But I would avoid 4x4 shops they seem to have the higher prices for labor call around to a few alignment and or suspension shops. Lots of places will only instal the lifts they sell you at a mark up. I had springs/shocks/rear spacers installed. Called around and was quoted $280 to $700, Thats with alignment. Les Schwab and Wheelers 4x4 were way over priced in my area.
