How much to get spoiler painted/installed?

After searching the dark and mysterious backroads of the internet, I finaly managed to track down an 4gen spoiler with the "hump" for my 06. However, I have one problem, it is white and my 4runner is black/grey. What do you think it will set me back to get it matched and installed?

My best guess would be $250 (maybe less) for prep, paint and clearcoat. Another $200. for a shop who knows how to install it properly. Of course, with this forum and the internet, you could learn how to do it yourself (buy a spray gun kit and paint, clearcoat and materials) probably for under $200. total. Good luck.

Hi...where did you get the spoilers from and how much? I'm a new owner and I'm looking for one too with the hump. I have a white 07 SE. Thanks

76181-35050-C0 - bulge - hood in black
76192-35020 - plate
76182-35060 - guide
90080-17210 - nut, flange - need 5
90269-0454 - rivet - need 3

These are the part numbers and what they are called for the parts to add a scoop to your hood for your 4 runner. the C0 is for black... there are other colors.

However, you also have to change out your hood. You cannot just add the scoop. I know this because I just did all this on my 2006 since hail damage required a replacement hood and I have been wanting to add one so now seemed to be the time. The parts from Toyota dealership are about $200. A hood as well is about another $300-$450... depending on where you get it from. You can also check salvage yards for wrecked ones where the hood survived and see if you can get one that way.

Good luck!

You know, I had to get a corner panel painted for my old saab and everyone here quoted me $200+ so I took it to a place by our cabin (really small town) and got it done for $50. Matched perfectly and everything. If you're by a small town check there!

I am pretty sure he was talking about a "rear spoiler" for the lift gate and not a hood scoop.

I asked my body shop since mine is still there getting repaired.

To paint to match and install, $211

the cost to get one from Toyota the actual factory one is about $750, the aftermarket according to shop guy is $720.

The Toyota guy said to be careful on the aftermarket, make sure to ask if the brake light goes out that you are able to just replace the light and not have to replace the entire spoiler as they have found some are made like that, where you have to just buy another spoiler since you cannot replace the tail light.

Hope this helps.

$50! Dude, i believe you but nobody in a big city paints a car panel for only $50. :nono:
I guess the old saying still holds true: "a paint job is like eggs, they're cheaper in the country" (or small towns). :p
