How often do you put the back window down?

In the two years of being a 4runner owner I have my back window down 80% of the time...When the temperature is above freezing. Sometimes i only have the back window down and the rest are up. Out of all the runners in the Springs maybe 15% have the back window down. I get the smelly fumes coming in is a big reason to keep it up.

So the question is...how often do you put your back window?

I try to whenever possible. If my sunroof is open I at least crack it to help airflow.

It's been too cold. But when I got my Runner back in July, you can bet that bad boy was open everyday I could stand it :)

As much as possible! Sometimes it's just halfway so people can see what they're missing out on.

I love the "what the f--k" look they give you if you roll it down at a stop sign or traffic light... or even when you're rolling down the road. :car:

i use to never open them but since i got subs i like to open them more now. However, because of the cold, i open them more now cause its too cold to open other windows

Every chance I get...

Plus, nothing clears a fart like an open sunroof and the back window down. :behindsofa: except maybe a convertible

Occasionally but usually only for a short time and only with front windows down too. Any dust/dirt that gets kicked up by the tires tends to get sucked in the back window along with the exhaust (which is also why SUVs get so dirty on the back).

Keep in mind that carbon monoxide is odourless. You may be poisoning yourself and not even know it. Go buy a small battery powered CO detector and try driving around with it in the car and the back window down. That combined with getting dust/sand blown at the back of my head are why I rarely drive around with it down.

I don't drive with it down, but it's been about 3,333 days since I bought the 4runner and I operate it easily twice a day on average, maybe three, so perhaps as many as 10,000 times.:wow:

Guess I like it.:thumb3:

Every time I drive my first gen, the back window goes down. (No AC!)

4th Gen, not so much. That smell is a bit much sometimes. After driving a first gen for years, with no smell, it was such a disappointment the first time I had the window down in my 4th gen and punched the accelerator.

I drive with the rear window down and the sunroof open all the time! With the price of fuel, coupled with our great fuel mileage - I do whatever I can so I don't have to run the A/C.

Plus, it makes everyone else jealous when they see that our rear window actually works!
