How often?

I'm at 95k. Just changed the diff fluid in the rear diff for the 4th time. Only changed the trans fluid once so far. Probably will again at 100k. Changed the coolant twice so far.

Don't consider me the standard tho. I go a bit overboard when it comes to maintenance.

Thanks guys. Bought the car at 42K miles, it's at 52K now and I think all fluid are original.

Is there a special diff fluid I should get or any gear oil will do? I like Redline product. What do you guys recommend?

Reviving an old thread, but I have found Mobile 1 synthetic 75W-90 gear oil to be very friendly to Toyota Diffs that require GL-5.

I have used Mobile 1 gear oil in our AWD Sienna, 4Runner and my old Lexus.
It is half the price of Redline and easy to find locally.

I try to keep the Transmission fluid (Type-IV) fresh by doing a 4 quart drain and fill every other oil change. Its working for me so far.

Just my .02
