How realistic is this

why lease a car...just nut up and buy the thing...that way you dont have to watch the miles and worry about the little crap like this....

just my .02

Trust me, i'm tryin to work on a deal now. I am regretting leasing this thing every day. Plus, i had no idea how much i would love this car

Keep in mind the interest rates could change in a few years when your lease is done, if gas prices keep at the the current rise they are, the banks are more willing to deal cause taking the truck and reselling it would be harder especially if hybrids, cross overs and more fuel efficient vehicles are more popular, look at H2, Expeditions, Suburbans, they can be bought for less by leasing them and then just buying them at the end.

I had a friend who leased a 2000 Maxima, the lease bank was like give us 5000 less then what the buyout is and it's yours, since it came out to way less then having bought the car from the start he took it.

Really depends on the time of year and the amount of cars they have, if your 4Runner lease ends during snow season then they are less willing to deal cause 4x4 are hotness:)

Im shocked your not able to transfer the lease to a finance, my 03 was leased for the 1st 6 months and I was like this truck is way more then I ever expected, so I called my bank and was like whats it gonna cost to do away with the lease and buy it, the girl was like well to redo all the paper work would cost you an additional 150 dollars, but after they switched everything it came out to the same thing, they just gave me the option, well it's mandatory but they gave me a 6 month window to pay the buyout which they would have considered the down payment, so I figured I'll let the downpayment sit in my bank and build my interest before I give it to them;):

I am in the same situation lease wise,45,000. It doesn't make sense to replace tires now,I intend to run the Dunlaps to around 20-25,ooo. I will replace them just before the winter season when they get close to those miles . They obviously are not going to reach 45,000 and still pass inpection,no way. But hey ,they are not bad tires and I am going to run them. Then put on want you like and they certainly will take you through you lease. Besides you may decide to buy the truck at end of lease and you'll still have good tires. So you should get 20-25,000 out of the new tires too...its the best of both worlds.

I forgot to mention, I am in a 45,000 mile 3 year lease too. Personally, I got this truck with safety and its handling in bad weather in mind. I never thought I would enjoy this vehcile so much and become so obsessed with it. I cringe when I think that March 15 was the half way point in my lease. In addition, I can't even drive this thing as much as I want too! When the lease is up, they are going to need a lot of force to pull me out of my 4Runner! I don't even think the SWAT team would be able able to seperate me from my 4Runner! :p

You're totally right. I never expected that same feeling either. I mean, the only thing that hinders me from driving this thing all day, is a job and the fact that i have to worry about the miles. I must admit that before i got it, i really didn' t know anything about it, but ever since that first day i have been sick with this thing

efing toyota, how dare they make an incredible vehicle like this.

The tires are still in fine shape, but i am trying to take advantage of sales and whatnot before they evaporate. Decisions decisions
