How satisfied are you with your 5th Gen?

I absolutely love my Limited in every way. Honestly, this Forum is more positive than some I have been on. I bought a 1st gen Matrix, and that Forum was full of nothing buy negative crap. After an hour, you were sure that you had just purchased a piece of crap. This Forum is pretty reasonable in my mind. In fact, it was the vibe that I got from this place that sealed the deal for me.

I love my TE, I've put 10250 miles on her since I picked it up since March 12th. 2500 miles a month because it's near impossible to get it in and go for a "short" drive.

I have given some critical comments in the past, but I am an engineer, that's what I do, always look for improvement in design. And I feel like I am doing a service to others by not sugarcoating everything. There are some minor annoyances, yes, but all-in-all, I love driving my 5th Gen 4Runner and absolutely love taking it off-roading and camping. The picture threads I have posted in the past illustrate my (perhaps unhealthy) adoration that I have for it

I'm not even sure "completely" is possible (similar to the idea of "perfect").
That said given the choices I picked "completely." So far it's the best vehicle I've owned and I absolutely love driving it. :bravo:

Although I haven't spent a lot of time behind the wheel of our purchase I'm looking for a long lasting relationship with it. Having owned previous Toyota models one would think I had learned a lesson. Sadly I didn't and purchased a Jeep Grand Cherokee in 2006. For the past 4 months I have been driving that around with the 4 sale sign on it, enough said. On another note, my wife and kids drove the 4runner from Calgary Alberta to Toronto Ontario a distance of 2500 miles in 3 days. She said it was fun and a pleasure to drive day in and day out for 3 days!:trophy:

I am surprised by the 2 dissatisfied votes. Well, not really surprised, but surprised they still have them. My dealer was bending over backwards to make sure I am happy with it after a couple months. I had a couple minor issues (roof racks did not provide enough clearance for a box on top, so they let me return them after use...the lug nuts were breaking off, they replaced them...the extended service they threw in was based off of 5K miles, not 10K, so I got a full refund, no questions asked.
Eg, I thought all engineers did was design things that break (except for Toyota engineers)? Bridges, buildings, computers. Even after they find "improvements", they still break!

I am at 5000 miles and love it (4x4 limited). I usually do a lot of mods, but have only found 3 things I wanted.
1. Blend mount for the val 1
2. just did dynomat for the doors. Huge improvement in sound, doors sounds solid when closing and helped the door speakers
3. mudflaps on order
I am ready for the first service, and don't have one thing to tell them to look for/adjust. My wife and I have a much more fuel efficient car, but drive the 4runner all the time because it is just so nice and comfortable. Best car/suv i have purchased.

Good thread and good poll. Right now the percent of owners who are somewhat or completely dissatisfied is 12%.
That would suck to buy a new car and be unhappy with it. For the members who are dissatisfied, (3 of them), I would like to hear your reasons. I have not drivien a 5th generation yet, my only impression of them is "gee that sure looks like a Sequoia".
I know a lot of new potential owners look at this forum and they would like to know the "Good, Bad and Ugly" of any new car. So, I hope we get a lot of responses, both good and bad.

I have been critical in some areas but that is how we achieve improvement.
There has been cutbacks from 4gen and stock vehicle has some poor options for some people (as always).
As for how satisfy, In comparison with what is out there, I love my truck (TE). But I did have higher expectation from Toyota. ( i.e tire on TE, projector light, LED light, in glass antenna, sliding cargo, lack of NAV and leather on TE in Canada, etc). These are not major decision factor for most buys, including myself. Key factors such as reliability, longevity, performance are key buying factors and this truck has had it all in the past.
It is not perfect, but close enough for me to buy it.

Hey... who's your dealer in the DEN metro area? I bought from a broker, and have yet to figure out which dealer to go to.

GO on Arapahoe. I don't think the service managers/parts guys are the best (knowledge weise), but when you talk to the techs, they know their stuff.
Example: I was looking for the TE upper grille moulding cover (the one that is chrome on the SR5/limited and black on the TE). The parts guy told me I was blowing smoke, it does not come off and you needed to buy the whole assembly. I went out, took it off and he said hmm, I don't think that should come off.

I voted "Completely Satisfied", because I'm much more than "Somewhat".
It's a great ride AFAIC; rugged, powerful, confidence-inspiring, has a great on-road presence, and I expect it to be reliable.
I am annoyed by the radio panel and info panel glare, and the brake dive.
I owned 2 Pathfinders previous to this, and they were dead-bang bulletproof, but I just felt like a change. I shopped long and hard, and I'm very satisfied with this choice.

Thats funny you should mention the Pathy, I owned an 05 and WILL NEVER drive one again. That thing brand new rattled more then the 96 4runner I traded it for, and i also did it because I also wanted a change. Although good on the beach, ill never drive one again. Service department was hands down the worst ive ever expierenced and it ruined me for nissan ownership.
That being said I am 100% completely satisfied in my decision to trade in my 2008 V8 limited for the 2010 V6 Limited. I feel this new 4runner far exceeds the prior one in almost every catagory. From fit and finish, seat comfort, that rear slide tray (which I use on a daily basis), Nav, stereo, bluetooth, size and room inside you get the picture. It feels as though this V6 is getting smoother everyday as my mileage goes up. Acceleration is fine and I even dig the exhaust note from the inside on slow acceleration. The only things I dont care for is that mast antenna and the tires could use a bigger sidewall (both fixable). The rear window wiper doesnt bother me that much and either does the lack memory seats.

Completely satisfied with 4Runner.
I'll have to try GO at Arapahoe because I seem to be the only one bending over at my dealer....
