Looking for exhaust kit
I myself have been watching and reading the boards on exhaust kits. Chaz has me sold on the Borla catbac. I'm not after loud screaming exhaust, some of you are and to each our own. I just want less restriction, possibly see the supposed "gains in HP, TQ, fuel economy", turn the exhaust out to the side (even though I've never had any problems with a "sulfur smell") and have a nice V8 exhaust enhanced grumble.
I gathered this info on the full kits. I didn't bother with any info on the TRD system because I've only seen the V6 setup. Gibson's website is awesome with two kits, one aluminized and the more expensive stainless. Both are swept side rear exit. They are advertising a sale price with over $100 off. Something like $312 for the aluminized and $422 for the stainless one.
Then there's Magnaflow's kit which runs around $733. Its a dual, same side, behind the tire exhaust.
Borla's kit at the website will run ya $1,100. I searched for that kit online at other stores and you can find it for as low as $740. The kit is a dual split side exit. Chaz has sold me on the Borla. He's a great help with good info. He said the install was easy and painless.
I have not heard or installed any of these components, I've just been reading off the limited internet in Iraq. I don't have any experiences with these brands as of yet. I hope this info helps.
