How the hell do I get this fuse out?

Hey Jeff, does Mrs Antman ever stand in the door, watching you with her arms folded, shaking her head slowly, rolling hers eyes, etc?

I can kinda picture it.

Obviously Gracie wasn't available to guide you through the proper procedure for replacing an alternator, maybe you should have waited............................................just sayin :hiding:

That sucks man, a simple swap turns into a major project for a FUSE :crybaby: I hate when that happens.

Damn Antman, your index finger looks like a package of week old hamburger in the Krogers butcher discount cooler. You best go get a tetanus shot. :-)

^^^^^ it happens

I think its the name of DIY, and even more so with automotive. At least in my family anytime we tell the wives "30min in the garage" the reply "see you in a few hours" there is always something.

I suppose I should try to put my new alternator in today... you might get a message or two from me today.

Reminds me of watching my brother cut a tree down.

See, I don't like heights. So I called him up and said "Scott, can you come over and help me cut down this dead ***** Willow in my back yard?".

He's like watching a damn monkey climb a tree. One hand on the tree, running chain saw in the other and a cigarette hanging from his mouth.

I was down below with 911 dialed into my cell phone waiting to hit enter.

He didn't lose any body parts that day, but a week ago he sends me a picture of the end of his finger and its not attached to the other part of his finger.

I asked him what the hell he did and he said "Well, it all started with Here, hold my beer and watch this". LOL

Nothing good has ever come out of "Here, hold my beer and watch this".

On second thought, probably better she wasn't directing............I'm sure there were several choice words that weren't age appropriate :tsk:

Ha-ha-ha, bad decisions make great videos....................

They always yell at me when I slip out an fword or 2.

There were quite a bit though...

All this alternator talk reminded me of my alternator issues on my old Nissan PU. It worked ok, except a bearing was bad and when the squeal got to be too much I figured I'd change it out.

On this vehicle all access to the wiring is through a small cutout in the fender with the R/H wheel removed. I was doing ok until I went to remove the square plastic plug that held the sense wiring. It would not release. I couldn't see, but I thought I had the locking tab taken care of. After a couple days of screwing with it - I cut the wires and soon had it on the bench.

Even on the bench the plug would not come out. I kept wiggling and pulling and finally got it to come out. Well almost all of it. Turns out it was heat welded at the bottom of the socket.

So I looked all over for another plug / harness etc. and never found one. I ended up splicing it back on. It's been about 3 years and it's still working fine. I put a little grease on the lip of the plug to prevent this from happening again!
