how to align struts top plate with the bottom eye for install

Hey guys, thanks SO much to a local T4R member Ervin i was able to get a good chunk of the lift done but i realized when i gave "ok tire" my shocks and coils to install they did not align them right.. when i put the top 3 studs in the bottom eye is anywhere from 30-45 degrees off, so Ervin saw that it looked like if you take a straight edge and put it across any two of the studs that will be the angle you want to have the bottom eye aligned at.. if you need me to draw a picture for better clarification just let me know Otherwise does this sound about right??

I followed this when I did mine and worked out mint.

I am installing my new struts in a few days and I told the shop to align them like my old ones but just from looking at them they look a little off..so my question is there anyway to get them to line up without recompressing them??

how much are they off? a few degrees? one of mine was a hair off, all I did was put the top plate in the upper tray and put a nut on to hold it in place. Then i took a center punch big enough to fit in the lower bolt hole and twisted it the right way to fit.

But if its off a lot, then it needs to be compressed again and redone.

Im really hoping they are just off by a hair cause I will hate to have my truck apart and have to take them back to a shop to be recompressed and lined up

Just eyeballing the orientation of the two of the 3 upper bolt holes in relation with the lower eyelet shock mount, it looked very much in line with one another.
