How to attach my safety flag to roof rack

I got a safety flag for my 4Runner. I use a Yakima MegaWarrior roof rack (with extension).

The flag hardware has a fork in it that is usually attached to an axle.

I want to know how to attach it to a roof rack bar. It looks like a simple case of using the right hardware, but I don't know the safest way to do this.

Any recommendations on what I should get to do it right?

Drill a hole in one of the flat sections or put a mount between 2 of the bars and use this.

I dont have a basket, but have LFD crossbars and got this for a trip to the dunes next week

Or get a bar mount and put the Tuck through it, like this.

Can you drill a couple of holes at the appropriate places on the bracket and use some small u bolts to hold it to the round vertical pipe of the basket?
You could lock the fork on the bottom bar and clamp to the same bar where it goes vertical, or so it looks to me from the picture.
