How to change you motor oil

I recall general complaining about the oil mess when taking the oil filter off. Helpful tip for others: use tin foil under the filter to create a channel down to the oil drain pan. No mess.

I learned that on my old VW, but comes in real handy on the 4Runner too.

I just rest easy knowing my skid plate will never rust.

i usually loosen the filter a little then slide a plastic bag over it and continue to take it of then quickly throw it the bag.

Did you only put 5 quarts? suppose to be 5.5
