How to clean powder coated wheels

My wheels are powder coated flat black. W/ the amount of snow we have had in Montana they were obviously a bit on the dirty side. Couldn't even tell they were black..everything was a dirty brown. Anyway...I washed the car yesterday and the black wheels are spotted w/ brown stains, large brown stains and streaks. They look like I never really washed them at all. I can't get them clean w/ a wet rag.

Any ideas? WD-40 maybe? I really don't want to scratch the powder coat.

Try Clay Bar, Brand doesn't matter. First use the Clay+Lube it comes with, if that doesn't work, move onto Clay+Water and Clay+Windex if necessary.
You are going up in abrasiveness is the point and finding exactly where you need to be to get the stuff off. Let us know the + or - results.

How about a household cleaner of some sort? Home Remedy?

Household Cleaning items as well as the WD-40 you mentioned might get them off, but Scratching/Peeling off is the issue, since these items are abrasive & Gotta be very easy on powder coats and Painted Surfaces. You can try to dilute Simple green at least 6/1, but I wouldn't. Clay Bar+Lube combos can be bought for $15 (ClayMagic) to $25 (Meguiars). It is the safest option that is easy on your wallet. Plus, you can use the same clay to do your entire car.

If you really want to test your household items, try on a small conspicuous area first, and keep going if you see the results you desire.

can you post some pics of your truck and the powder coated wheels? i have a silver t4r too and cant decide if i want to powdercoat them or not. i started a thread about it but no one had any pics of silver t4r with powdercoated wheels really.

The wheels I had powdercoated flat black. I also, as you may notice, blacked out the center bar of the front grille and the chrome piece above the rear license plate. Never seen another like it.

ya montana that looks really nice. im just trying to figure out if i would like my sport wheels powdercoated. your look real good, but they're 5 spoke not sure if mine will look as good.
