How to defeat the climate auto recirculate function?

I searched here and google and found nothing to help. Everytime I get in on a hot day, the climate control goes into recirculate with or without the AC on. The button is a momentary switch so its not locked in to position right? Would tap splicing the two wires behind the switch together stop it?

I'm not sure how to turn the feature off, but I am curios as to why you want to.

Doesn't the recirc help cool the car, or help keep cool, when the AC is on? And if the AC is off but windows are down, why would the recirc be an issue?

Unless on a hot day, you prefer to be in the car with the AC off, windows up, and pumping in air from outside through the vents?

Not at all trying to be a smart butt or anything. I legit am wonder why.

08 SR5 here. My climate control seems to always be on recirc mode, even though I turn that off within the first few seconds of getting into the car.

Ive read elsewhere it has to do with outside temp and internal temp setting variance, but I'm not sure exactly.

On the 5th Gen It will go in to recirc mode when temp control is turned all the way to the left, cold setting. You can feel a detent in the rotary switch when it clicks in to that full cold position. If you rotate clockwise just slightly it will stop automatically defaulting to recirc. If I recall my 4th Gen may have operated the same way. Worth a try

Evidently so. My '07 Limited does exactly what is described above, on days where ambient temp is > the set temp the recirculate button lights. Possibly this only happens on certain models.

I've tested this in hot (>80degF ambient) weather by leaving the set temp above known ambient, then shutting off ignition. When I put the key in run position, no recirc light...but as I click down the set temp the recirc light comes on by itself.

edit: this is without AC engaged. Very annoying.

It's possible mine works the same way, I'll have to check it and see, just never noticed it being on unless I turned it on.

Its annoying when I get into the truck on a 90* day, and it is 110* plus inside the truck and when i start up, it goes into recirc mode blowing hot air and this is even if the AC is turned off. At that moment the outside temp is much cooler than inside the truck and the AC hasnt charged up yet. Explain to me the logic behind having the recirc with AC off.
From what I can tell there isnt a dedicated wire connection. There is just one plug for all functions of the temp control.
