How to do throttle body relearn?

Hey all,

I was hoping you guys could shed some light. I have to install a new throttle body on my truck and I have to do a throttle body relearn once I’m done installing the new one. I bought a scanner from innova (it was a 5160rs) but it didn’t have the option to do such a thing. Is there any other way I can complete the relearn? Thanks!

It's not the TB (Throttle Body) that would have to "learn" anything.
It would be the ECM that would need to "relearn" some parameters.
Just like if you were to disconnect the battery too long and the ECM dumped it's memory.

In such a case you just drive it for 20-30 miles (varies, probably in the owners manual). The ECM relearns what it needs to, if anything.

I'm sure others will chime in with more specifics.

Yes, I think it would be similar to when you clean your TB and move the butterfly wide open when cleaning, if you don't disconnect the battery and let ECM relearn, then you have an abnormally high idle for a little while.
I would say disconnect your battery, swap TBs, reconnect battery and drive it.
