How to fix antenna cable?

The end of my antenna cable broke that attaches to the antenna. Is it best to fix by soldering, attach a new end, or just run a new cable? Is there an epoxy that would work? Remember some made for TV ad back in the day that claimed cold soldering.

Looks like it's standard RG58 coax which means you can get a new NMO mount and solder it to the end.

However, Midland seems to have used a special NMO mount that also has a bit of weatherproofing on it. Most standard mounts are meant to have the underside in the interior of a vehicle and thus don't have anything in the way of water resistance.

If you're okay with having less-than-stellar weatherproofing, you could pick up a new NMO mount for about $8 or so and solder/crimp it on.

Otherwise, it looks like you might be able to pull back the plastic on that mount and re-solder the center pin. Definitely don't go for the cold-soldering nonsense as it doesn't work.
