how to hardwire a radar...

Can someone help me.


I just bought a v1 radar... How do you remove the overhead? does it just pop open?

Which is the best wire to tap? a wire that only gets power when the car is on...thx for the help..

Looking for the same info, I'll tag along for a reply. But, I'm looking to put it low on the dashboard and run it to the fusebox under the steering colum maybe? Any help would be appreciated.

Damn, I've been lying my ass off on this V1 install. I didn't tap into the sunroof power for my V1 as I've been saying. I think that's what I did in my old M3.

Here's the install writeup with a few pics.

Since I have a remote display, I tapped into the unused heated seat power in the center console.

DO YOU KNOW WHICH WIRE I CAN TAP IN THE OVERHEAD?

i just popped the console out of the sunroof -- be carefull to not break the clips or loose them -- they tend to go flying.

I tapped directly into the light power -- it is NOT switched

if you can find one that is only one when the key is on - let me know so i can rewire mine!

If you can find the sunroof motor power, that should be switched and should work for power. Get a tester to make sure if you don't want to splice into all the wires.

I have a remote display so I was able to get power from the center console.
