Well, they are noticeably brighter. They don't feel twice as bright or anything, but definitely more light. If I had it to do again, I would just get some GE Megalight 130+ bulbs instead. You can find them for about $30 in H11 and they offer similar output as the H9 conversion.

I went with the Philips H9. After having done the conversion, with the comedy I described on the previous page, I would just get the GE. The difference in cost and brightness is minor and will probably save me 3 hours :lmao:Which H9 bulb did you go with? The Philips H9 is brighter than the GE 130+

Does anyone know why the GE Megalight Ultra H11 +130s are impossible to find right now? No one has them in stock.

ok so it took longer than i thought haha. got them in yesterday. they are very bright!
one note: i had to trim the top center tab just a bit. these are plastic, not metal like the H9's, so the plastic snapped real easily w a pair of snips. be careful or you could overdo it for sure. you DO NOT have to remove the inner plastic tab on the 9011. they will plug and play with the hi beam connector.
took less than 5 minutes.

Halogen bulbs do degrade light output over time. So maybe not immediately but after a year or so it's probably enough degradation that it may be worth it.
many people have done it including myself without any issues. I, however, have moved on because they still burn out after several hundred hours.

first to morimoto 2stroke 2.0 - not bright enough
i am now on gtr lighting ultra 2 - much much brighter than the morimotos

solid, any issues with fitment?
i have a 2017 and no fitment issues but others have reported issues. the last i remember it was someone with a 2020 having issues. supposedly they were working on a revision to make it fit better but you should check with headlight revolutions.
Wow that's a pricey set of LEDs! Could buy 18 sets of H9s for that but, then again, time is money too so I get it.
I don't do a ton of nighttime driving so I'm still on my original set of H9s for over 2 years - think I'll swap in a new set soon since halogens degrade over time and won't have to worry about when they will go out.
yea i had no issues with the output of the h9. the issue was for aesthetic reasons. and to make it worse i went to morimotos first then the gtr ultras. i was skeptical on how bright the gtr would be but i am not disappointed.
Good to hear. I've got to admit that LED technology does look better than halogen in projector housings!
