How to install 4-Runner Tail light Guards

I've searched everywhere for the answer to this and can't find it anywhere. I picked up a set of used tailight guards for my 3rd gen and they seemed very easy to install until I actually attempted to do it. I can see that you use the stock screwholes to put them on but when I try to slip the guard over the light it doesn't seem to want to fit properly. Do I need to purchase longer screws or is there a trick to this or something else I'm missing? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Not sure but I googled tail light guards and it's not showing any additional hardware needed or included. I would think they will just bolt right up.

First of all, these things ate flimsy so yours migh be bent like mine, making figment impossible! BUT all you do is, lift gate, unbolt 2 bolt but leave light on, and place it over the light, might be a pain but they will catch after a while they just tighten down
