How to Isolate which belt is Squeaking?

One of my three drive belts is squeaking, but I'm not sure which one. Any ideas on how to isolate which one it is? It sounds like a bird chirping under my hood. It doesn't change whether A/C is on or off. Can I then assume that it's not the A/C belt?

the other belt that take a lot of load on the pully is power steering,

let me know if you need help figuring out how to tighten it up. im off for the weekend already!

if one is squeaking i would just replace all of them, if one is bad most likely they all are.

i would agree with you if you dont know the age of the belts.

i just changed mine a few months ago so i know im good.

Agree just change them all if old but sometimes you squeel due to being to lose or tight. To tight is very bad as it causes accessories to fail. Anyways to find the squeeler just get a bar of soap and very carefully< without long sleeves on, with the motor running start too touch the soap too one belt at a time. When the squeel stops you know which one it the culprit.

A light spray bottle with some water in it. Spray on one by one checking each time. Water won't ruin your belts and you won't need much. It also evaporates quickly. When the squeaking stops you've found the bad one. Before doing any of that though, check your tention to the belts and see if you can get close ebough to inspect for cracks. Adjust the tensioners if they aren't tight enough. Like someone else said too tight is bad but you also don't want there too be much give when pressing on it.

I use the water technique and it usually works. But if the noise is in a pulley or driven equipment, that may not work. You can always take the accessory belts off, and put them on one at a time. That will always work.
