How to program another key?

I only got one key when I purchased my 03 4Runner used. I have read that it is possible to program a new blank key yourself with other Toyota models, but could not find confirmation or specific instructions for 4th gen 4Runners. Has anyone done this? Does anyone have a link to the steps? I would obviously rather not pay the dealership a fortune to do something I could easily do myself.

You can program the FOB but not the key (which has a chip in it. The dealer and some Ace Hardware stores have the equipment.

I have read several posts where other Toyota owners (not 4Runners) have followed a complex process of depressing the brake pedal, gas pedal, turning key on and off, doing a jig etc... to program a new master key onboard. Does anyone have a Factory Service Manual to check if there is reference to onboard key programming?
