About 2.5 years ago I bought these aftermarket LED tail lights. They work really well and I like them, but with one problem. The baseline tail light brightness is almost as bright as the brake light brightness. There is enough of a difference that it's noticeable, but they are definitely brighter than they should be when the brakes aren't activated.
I've just kind of let this go since because the third brake light up above makes it pretty obvious when I'm stopping as well... but then I got pulled over for it the other night. So now it's time to try and deal with it haha.
I really like the look of these tail lights, so I am trying to figure out if there is a way to modify the light or wiring so that it dims the baseline taillight brightness but keeps the high brightness level on the brake light activation.
I was hoping that I could just somehow wire something into the harness going to the brake lights to achieve this? I'm not an electrical expert by any means though, so here I am haha.
