How to remove floor mat twist clips?

I have a 2016 ltd, and found some husky liners without any holes for clips. Which I prefer liners without holes to avoid water going thru clip holes. I searched and did not find anything on how to remove twist style clips.

I just laid mine over the clips, does not seem to raise it enough to matter.

If they are the same as mine you just need a flat-head screw driver to push/squeeze the clip so that it can slide out of the hole.

Sorry for late reply, but I think many people have mats without holes and have similar concern about water getting through.

These Eagle Klaw fasteners solve the problem when the cap is tightened into the anchor.

I think the clips changed. I had a 2011 T4R and the clips easily popped off when I put in my Husky mats. I tried "popping" them off, on my 2016, with a flat head screw driver, like I did on my 2011, but it didn't work!

Here's what's left... not sure how they could pop off easily since the clips are the bottom side of the white base, which is under the carpet.

I would think the 2010 would probably be like the 2011 I had...which, when removed, allowed the Husky to thread right in. ymmv

Sorry to try to revive a thread that was never never really alive, but I'm wondering the same thing. I have a 2011 4R I'm building and I want to convert the floor mat retainer to the new twist style (currently has the old hook style). Has anyone done this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
