How to remove the third hidden nut of the front shock?

I'm stuck replacing my front shocks. The third nut in the back is left. There is so little space to put there any socket and I can't get it loose with the regular 14mm wrench..
What do you use in such tiny spaces?

Put the boxed end of the wrench on the nut, open end out, then use another wrench boxed end in the open end for leverage

That's exactly what I did for mine. But be careful not to round it off!(Don't ask how I know). Spray it with some PB blaster or similar beforehand and let it soak.

Yes, ratchet wrench. You can get a cheap set at Harbor Freight if you don't wrench much...

Ha. Atman got bored. Wandering all the way to the 4th Gen section like this :bounce:.

Just picking lol. I follow your build pretty regular. Origionally looking for cross-generation ideas. Love your truck. Keep up the good work. (And best of luck in the water! It's that time of year again!)

Thank you Greg!:bounce:

I just used a bfh and clearanced the inner fender a little bit, it doesn't need to move much to be able to fit a 3/8 drive socket on there. Maybe 1/4-1/2"

Harbor Freight sells a cheap set of box wrenches that are shaped like an 'S' and come in really handy for these sorts of things.

Thanks to all.
It went off with a flexible ratchet wrench 14 mm and a steel section as an extension. I tried the first method but with no success. Then bought a cheap half moon wrench which loosen the first nut but passenger side almost rounded. So I decided to spend some more money on a Toptul flexible wrench as they didn't have a half moon one. This make of tools I personally recommend, quality makes a difference.

The right tool for the job makes all the difference. A ratcheting wrench can help, also once I put on extended studs to enable use of top plate spacers I found that I had to bend the sheet metal back a little bit to get the wrench over the top of the stud. When I put the 1" body lift on I instantly gained lots of extra space there. Sounds like you got it figured out already though. :guitar3:

a 1" body lift on our trucks makes a world of difference when it comes to getting at all those hard to reach nuts and bolts. like the tophat nuts or the rear shock stud. hell even a 1/2BL would make everything easier to get to and work on
