How to replace exhaust manifold ?

Hi guys !

Is anyone did exhaust manifold replacement ?
I need any tips how to do that job .
Looks really difficult.

In a word yes. The book time for both manifolds is 14.5 hours. I looked at doing it via the wheel wells when changing the front air/fuel sensor (O2). If any of those bolts give you trouble I think you'd be better off removing the engine.

Is it possible to lift engine a bit without disconnecting all of equipment ? I can get a lifter

Yeah 14 hrs here in canada cost around 1600$ for labor
I can't afford it right know and the noise is getting really loud .
I can even see smoke comes from front of manifold .
Sorry for my English I'm from europe

I have not done a set of manifolds yet, nor do I think any of my coworkers have on a 4.7L 4Runner. I believe last I heard that the engine needs to be dropped a little bit to get clearance, but I could be wrong.

Hello guys !

I did my manifold with my buddy . lots of work ,
we spend a 6 hrs to get manifold out .
I tried save some $$$ and we welded cracked manifold .
The problem is manifold get bend a bit cause by welding hot surface . we had to grind flanges flat and it still leaking but not much like before lol.
I need to replace a manifold for a brand new .
