How to replace navigation disk

Bought a new navigation disk from my dealers parts department and they said I could install myself. I can't for the life of me figure out how to eject the existing disk or install the new one. Called the parts department back and they now tell me they can't help with that but to call the service dept. which I did and asked for info and they've never called back.

Looking at the box in the back there is a little lever that moves back and forth but doesn't eject the disk. Can anyone help?

This is for a 2003 4-runner

Sorry I've not replace mine (yet) so no help there. I've contacted my dealer for the update disk and they couldn't tell me anything about it. Just curious, how much did the update disk cost?

I have a '03 Limited with the OEM Navi and the DVD drive is in the rear cargo area. if you are looking from the back of the 4Runner, it is on the right side. There is a cover that pops off and gives you access to the DVD drive. I know on mine there is a eject button just like on the HU. If you still have a hard time, take a picture of the unit with the cover off and post it.

I paid 199 plus tax at the dealer.

WSM, that's what I have a 03 limited and the DVD drive is in the back righnt under a lid over the wheel. I can open the lid but see no eject button. I can take a photo but's it's exactly like yours. Where is the release button?
There is a little slider on the left side of the DVD drive that opens and closed the door but nothing ejects.

Sorry for the delay in my reply. I just went out and looked at my 4Runner. When I take the cover there is a little sliding door on the left side of the DVD drive. By sliding that torwards the rear of the truck, it opens the slot for the disc. It also uncovers the eject button. It is a little hard to notice but its there. Also you truck has to be on to get it to eject the disc. Hope that helps.

WSM, Thanks! I had moved that little cover but saw nothing. Turned the car on and navigator said it was open. I'll have to get these old eyes to look closer. Appreciate the help!

when I updated mine, the unit recognizes a new version disc and takes a few minutes to update. after that it works great.
