How to replace taillight?

I can't see any screws, does it just "pop" out???

Never mind

found the screws and got it swapped, BUT no good. Turn signal doesn't work and the front left turn signal is flashing way faster than the right turn signal. (replaced taillight is left)
Different relay or something to the LED's I assume.

It should work - find the LED replacement thread. You most likely did not hook up the bulbs properly. Did you reclaim the old lights?

Did you replace the turn signal bulb with a LED one? LEDs have lower power consumption over a conventional bulb. That difference causes the system to "think" a bulb is out and the rapid signal flash. You will need to install resistors to create a load on the electrical system to stop it.

Try taking turn signal bulb from the right side (if you swapped the turn left turn signal with a LED) and see if that alleviates the problem. If so, install the resistors.

I replaced one of the rear taillights on my previous 4Runner after I backed into the damn garbage can and it shattered the passenger side taillight. :bonk:

Anyway, after I replaced the rear taillight I had various problems getting it to work such as the taillight didn't work, the turn signal didn't work, etc... All the issues I experienced were related to me not connecting the various connectors for the multiple lights in the taillight assembly correctly. It's a little tight in there.

As other folks have mentioned, make sure the bulbs are in correctly and reseat the connectors.

nothing changed

Swapped the bulbs over from the old tailight (where the turn signal worked fine). IT's the amber bulb on top and it can only be installed one way. Clicks when you turn it to connect. I've redone it several times, but there's really no way to get anything wrong. I replaced the whole unit, so I was working in the open, it's a simple procedure.

That's exactly what I did!!! Couldn't believe it broke, I barely tapped it.
And then that the dealer wanted $240 for it! Got it online for $160 shipped and was surprised that it was the complete unit.

Called Conicelli and they are sending another one out. Must be an internal wiring defect. :bigok:
