to anyone with roof lights / LEDs....
They can be stolen easily, so how are you all locking them down to prevent thief?

Easy answer is tamper resistant hardware - there are a number of variants to be found from the torx style with the 'nipple' in the middle to more elaborate options.
However, these should be considered deterrents to the casual thief as opposed to 'thief-proofing'. You can buy the tools as easy as you can buy the hardware. There's hardly anything truly theft proof. If they want it - they'll take it.
You could come up with some elaborate keyed or locked bracketry that covers up the mounting hardware.
Also, try keeping the 4Runner in a safe, well lit place if available.

Good words. I think the key is "thief deterrents" because you are right; if they want it, they will have it.

Yep. In all honesty, Torx fittings and some appropriate thread locker is about all I would do. It should keep punks away, but hopefully not encourage damaging more expensive parts.
