how to turn off drls on a 2002 sport

whats up..ive been trying to find a thread on this and i cant find one. i just bought a 4runner and im not likeing the drls at all..if anyone knows anything or if they know about a thread on this website let me know i would really appricate it

This has been covered multiple times. Yes, the above write up is what you need.

If you don't want to install the switch like the write up says, just snip the appropriate wire and you're done. I disabled mine months ago and have never looked back since.

Why does everyone want to get rid of DRLs? They are a great safety feature. I added them to one of my cars.

Tomsriv, there is alot of reasons to why.

- Some like to take picture with out the drl to get a clear shot
(no light glare).
- if you have the plug n play H.I.D, it only turn 1 headlight on.
- some go hunting, so they would like to turn off their headlights.

these are just some of the reason why. if you have time, do a DRL search and there will be alot of posting to to why.

Tomsriv, this has been covered in great detail many times over. Simply conduct a search on DRLs either here on T4R.org or on yotatech.com. You'll find many, many threads on why 4Runner owners (including myself) have disabled them.
