how's the new DRL module with xenon depot High Beam LED's

Hi guys
Ordered my low beams today from xenon depot. But I want to see how the 9005 high beam bulbs are doing now that xenon depot has the new module for the DRL. Wow, 60 bucks extra for that.

But I do like driving with my DRL for safety. You never know.

Any issues so far with that new module if people are running it? I think it's been about a year now they have that module.

I was in the first round of orders and I really liked them. However, they did flicker just a bit and if I was in back of a pickup say 3ft...you could see a slight flicker in the tailgate. [MENTION=12905]XenonDepot[/MENTION] came out with V2 soon after the initial launch. I PM'd them and w/o even asking they shipped me for free the V2 module. I hooked them up and they look awesome. Only way I can see a flicker with the DRL's is by holding my hand a few inches from the light on an angle. Not an issue for me. Better than V1 and the DRL's look great. The HB's light up the road too. Extremely satisfied with the product and their customer service.

Love it, but not sure I would buy it if I didn't already have their high beam bulbs installed. That being said, the led's look great now as a DRL.

I bought my set during the Black Friday sale last year and got it in January. And as others have said. There is still a slight flickering. But it does function as a DRL and I havn't had any major issues with it.

I have the DRL modules.
I've been running them since right after Christmas. I'm happy with them. Expensive - yes. I upgraded the lows/highs and the fogs with their discount and and holiday coupon, so I saved at least $60 on all of them. This was right before they were bought.

BTW I don't see any flickering with the DRLs.

I already adjusted the headlights after my lift/tires. I'm thinking of turning that bottle cap screw about 1/4 turn down. Sound about right? Or a bit more? For the lowbeams that is.

Someone here gave me a GREAT TIP. Turn that bottle cap 2 complete turns for 2-2.5" lift and tires. That was the TRD instructions. Worked out perfect. So i'm guessing one complete turn per inch of lift.

So maybe with the lowbeams +HID , just a tad lower.

Got mine during one of the 20% off sales. Went LED with the fogs/highs/lows. Love the DRL module. The LEDs make me feel like my 2018 4runner isn't antiquated...at least from the outside

This isn't an accurate method for adjusting headlights- you're guessing the adjustment. The correct way to do it is to load the truck the way you travel most often (add weight to the cargo), and take it somewhere with flat ground near a wall.

Get your tape measure out and park so that the grill is 25 feet away from the wall. Using your tape measure again, measure from the ground to the center of the projector bulb on each side (average the two). Take that measurement and subtract two inches (for example, mine was 41" so 39"). Put small pieces of tape (blue painter's tape works great) at 39" high on the wall in intervals, then stretch a straight piece of tape all the way across these. This is your straight flat aiming line. Covering one headlight at a time, adjust them until the lowbeam cutoff is just beneath this line.

Now your headlights are adjusted properly, you're not guessing, and you're not blinding oncoming drivers.

As for the Xenon Depot highs with DRL modules go, I love mine- they're fantastic. Since they use the highbeam bucket, they scatter light everywhere making them easier to see in the daytime (making them safer than lowbeams with their cutoff that are less visible during the day). But since they're limited to 15% brightness, they aren't blinding everyone. In high beam mode they are plenty bright! And the color matches my Morimoto LED low beams perfectly.

I would imagine that would eye ball it, but as @mynameisstory mentioned, the best and most accurate is to measure it. Here is a great thread:

Do the DRL work at full power when on?

In DRL mode, the bulbs lowers about 10-12% of full brightness and when you hit high beams, they will go full 100%.

Just to add to the positive comments,

I have them in my 19, and they work great. You can see a faint flicker, if you're right next to them starting em down with a hand in front and the clouds just pass right.... i.e. it's pretty difficult to find unless you're looking for it.

never had anyone flash me or complain when on DRL mode and my fiancée/family hasn't complained when I drive behind them.

in high beam mode they are super bright, almost like a spotlight down the road.
