Hows your vinyl wrap holding up?

I know a few people here have had their hoods wrapped with black vinyl.

After being annoyed by the sun reflecting off the nearly flat hood of my '14 I'm thinking of getting my hood wrapped with flat black.

Couple of questions...

How long have you had it on?
How does it seem to be weathering?
If you got the flat black (not satin), does it clean easy?

I know it'll probably only last 5 years or so, but I was wondering how well it handled the hot sun in a parking lot all day or in the desert heat. Does it peel or blister or come unstuck in curved areas etc...

Ya mine doesn't cover full hood , got mine from crawlorado but does what I needed !

You did just the center part?

I'd thought of doing just that, though if I want glare protection it's only about half effective. Was also thinking of geting it following the hood lines but like 6 inches in from the edges. That might look nicer, and works for glare (Saw an FJ that way), but then I would lose the added paint protection on the more vulnerable area on the front of the hood...


Hmm, descisions! May have to do more 'shopping

Ya your guys hoods are a lil diff than the 4ths , I like the 6" from the edge idea . Mine is fine for my glare points , play with a piece of vinyl if you have access see what fits the eye !

Well I went for the Full Monty

Kinda got played on the price I think, not happy about that. But I got the front-side windows tinted and the entire hood wrapped. It came out pretty awesome I think :bounce: Love the way it works. And even tested out it's glare reduction with a trip to the desert yesterday.

Well honestly there is still glare but it's spread out instead of beaming you in the face like a mirror like it was before so.... :reddance:

looks good! I think painting the bar in the grill and bottom area on the bumper black would look good to go along with your hood (evo x kind of look). I had the cent of my stock bumper black before the AOR. Ive thought about doing my hood but i think it would look funny with the scoop

The TRD pro 4Runner has that area blacked and I like the look of that, it would look even better on yours instead of that pseudo-orange color they have now!

you are a photoshop wizard compared to me! i would've had to use my MS paint skills and color black dots all over haha it looks good and plastidip would be flatter like the hood
