Does the bar rest aganist the front bumper? It looks like it is touching the bumper in a couple of the pictures?

it actually is barely but u can ajust it so it isnt. i just like it there. it wont really mess up the bumper in a fender bender so it doesnt matter

I know this thread is hella old but i just installed the hunter grille guard on my 4th gen this week (looks awesome by the way). They still sell them at truck gear direct on ebay. By the way the pics here helped, although i wish you showed the upper brackets because those were hard for me to install for some reason. But yeah...overall its a sweet guard!

Well it was the guard from truck gear direct's ebay site, it looks just like this one:

Is this the same grille guard because mine is Hunter too. Mine came with all the required hardware I did not need to buy any bolts if you would like I can post pics of how it is mounted to the frame.

...but where the fog lights go there are these braces/bracket things that attach to the frame near the headlights when you open the hood (where those flaps attach at the top).

The lower brackets were attached the exact same way you attached yours, the hardest part there was detaching the flaps (i didn't know that the plastic screws had to be broken off) Maybe it will help if i post some pictures but i don't really know how as this is my second post here so i gotta figure it out, but i do lots of photography and got an awesome DSLR Camera so expect some great pics!

Naw. Yours im guessing is the one that goes only half way up. It doesnt cover the headlights or anything, but you can still mount lights i believe. I think they both look great!

Funny looking at old picture of my 4runner.

I will also be getting rid of the brush guard in a few weeks after I get my new bumper if anyone is interested.

Yup those are the brackets and that is the guard! Wow i love the background with the mountains. reminds me of Grand Tetons. Looks like that grille held up pretty good for ya!

I just installed mine today and I had to bend those brackets some more and drill new holes in the brackets on the truck to make them work. Mine's a 04 sport V8. I had no directions so it was quite the pita
