Hunting Season!!!

Two years ago there was actually a bounty on coyotes here, and the only limit on deer is on bucks - shoot as many does as you see. And here I am, just hoping to knock down my first.

Ya that's way different than here, coyote all day and night all year long, deer on draw system, only bucks and possibly only whitetail or mule depending what and where you got drawn for, does always off limits.

We mainly hunt doe's on our lease. Only take a few bucks a year and mainly culls. Place was over hunted when we got on it so we've been trying to build things back up. Hogs, coyotes, rabbits, all fair game and all open season. Kill as many as you can.

That was in Texas?!?! Sheesh I guess I can't move there to hunt now. The coldest that I've gone out with my dad it started at 10* in the morning. Deer season is even worse especially the last weekend which is just before thanksgiving. The high temp rarely gets above 25* unless it's a warm spell then it gets to 40-45*.

Haha i thought you said you had it bad! Since this is a contest, we are often out in colder days than that in upstate NY, especially during the late muzzleoader season.

Deer, Turkey, upland game here. Mostly bow hunt though.

Superb elk hunting, if you can ever draw a tag, haha! Having lived in AZ but also other states, I always found it strange how many Arizonians think of their state as some sort of hunting/fishing mecca. There are opportunities, sure, but I always found it much more difficult than advertised.

Arizona is a different place for certain. I've got several close friends from there. Strange people. It's like they think they are better than Texas or something

I have about 30 nuisance hogs to deal with over the next 2-3 weeks.

Hunter here also. One buck down another buck to go. Landed a 2x2 during archery season. Archery is always tough here in California. Saving the other one for rifle season. Trying to finish up the rig before rifle season.

Lol. My brother lives in Texas, there seems to be all but zero state land... one of my best hunting friends is also from there. I brought him to NYS to hunt whitetail. Our property borders 3500 acres of state land anyone can hunt. You should have seen the look on his face. Priceless.


I dunno, for my money the midwest and northwest seem to have the best overall options for game.

Muzzleloader is late in the season don't even get me started lol. Archery goes until December 30 ,I think I don't bow hunt, but most people quit by the end of November because it gets way to cold by then and there is enough ice on the lakes to go ice fishing by then. Muzzleloader starts after firearms season ends and it's even colder and is why I'll never do it. I'd rather freeze my ass trying to catch a fish than hunt anything past thanksgiving.

Never hunted state land. Always been on leases. Dad and I keep talking about doing a pheasant trip up in Nebraska or even farther north for years. Need to quit talking about it and just do it.

Lion hunts seem to be a great way to anger the great unwashed now.

My kids and I will dove hunt on Sept 1 in Yuma, then deer here in Kommiefornia with some hog hunts thrown in. I also own land in Missouri to hunt bigger deer and ducks & turkey.

Mostly bow but also long distance rifle for game. Last year did feral hogs in Texas with a knife. That was fun & intense.

Ya, I'm not sure where they got that notion. I know some great elk and deer areas, but definitely not a mecca, but I prefer a challenge anyway. I got drawn for unit 37b which is definitely known as a tougher area to have a successful hunt.

haha, well I would bring up the old only two things come from Texas, but my grandfather was born in El Paso.

I used to have a lease in Fredericksburg. Loved hunting that area.

Land owner sold the property and lost my lease. Been trying to find a decent lease ever since. The last couple of years I've done package hunts just to get some meat in the freezer.

I Get sausage made at Bellville Meat Market. So far, the best I've found.

My friend goes hog hunting with some nasty looking heelers, I usually just camp out a watering hole or next to a corn field and light them up with my 6.8.
