Hi,
I am burned out on the Craigslist scammers and also driving super long distances in horrific LA/OC traffic trying to get to a deal on a good Yota 4x4 only for them to be sold. Seems any 3rd Gen with under 150k miles that goes up on CL for under $7k-8k literally you gotta drop everything going on in your life and race to throw cash at it. Also too many scams, race to see a good looking Yota 4x4 and turns out to be junk and you waste half or a full day depending on traffic.
Here is the deal, anyone in SoCa who has a good 4runner (or other Toyota 4x4 I am open to) with under 150k miles, automatic, preferably one owner with service records but open to 2nd owners as well...if you are looking to sell please contact me if your not looking to max out your profit dealing with tons of Craigslist whackos. Maybe it will cut out the marketing and fielding emails plus scheduling with the loonies who do not show up or show up and low ball you etc....and help me from scanning CL 24-7 and trying to get first dibs on any good looking Toyota while avoiding scams.
My dad is a big time hunter and the last 4x4 I got him needs replaced as its well exceeded what I thought it would in nasty snow and salt conditions (full size Silverado at 220k and still going). He is in his 70s and still drives an hour each way from PA to WV in mountain terrain, snow, rain, etc. He does not want to buy a brand new truck or SUV until he retires because he works at a steel mill that is nasty and covers vehicles in soot and even the interiors. So he needs a 4x4 for a year or two more of commuting in rain and snow, and for our deer, bear, and groundhog hunting adventures. However any used trucks back east in PA are rotted to hell, so I am gonna buy in SoCa and drive it back to him....was hoping to score in the next 2 weeks so I could head back for muzzleloader season. Drop the rig off and take him out hunting!
I wish I could have kept my 3rd gen and drove it back home, but at this stage he probably is not that great at driving stick.
