try to buy a bulb for the brake light that has a sound on it. remember other trucks, when they back up, it makes that beep sound to warn people? install it to the brake light and when he steps on the brake everytime, it will beep. imagine he's on a traffic light and his car is beeping. this must be really funny to others and embarassing as well.

Let me explain the story……my husband started smoking again and I found out he was smoking in his Runner (which is in my name). I told him if I found out he did it again I was going to do something so he couldn't go anywhere in it.

Well he and a friend went fishing today, he showed me a video and I was amazed to see his friend smoking in the truck.

One thing I am planning on doing is when he is out and about, I'm going to flatten his tires (thanks for the idea [MENTION=75144]crashman[/MENTION]) since I have a compressor and am looking forward to getting great enjoyment out of watching him from a distance when he comes out to find them flat. :spy:

I need some help with things under the hood that I can do that aren't too complicated, besides unhooking the battery. He has no mechanical knowledge and I have some, I have plenty of basic of tools.

So any ideas….que the devious laugh HaHaHa

Not to be a killjoy but Keep in mind you are talking about things that could jeopardize his safety and the safety of innocent people around him. Any of these pranks could cause him to have an accident and hurt or kill someone. Something to think about since these involve him driving. Maybe try a safer different approach.

Smoke rises. Not sure how well a smoke detector under the seat would work. Not to mention that they are designed with smokers in mind. If a cigarette would set them off, then no one would be able to smoke in their house. Good in theory, but unless you can get one of those that they use in airplanes, it probably won't ever go off.

Something we did to a friend, but I don't know if it will work on the 4 runner is to turn the heat on and set the fan to the highest setting then un plug the controls.

No one in my house smokes anymore so I didn't consider that they wouldn't pick up on smoke detectors. I just figured people just unplugged them or something.

We both quit smoking in April of 2005 when I found out I was pregnant and he just recently started.When we did smoke before neither one of us smoked in the cars because of the kids, I won't have my kids around it and don't want the smell left behind.

I have no intentions of doing anything that would cause him to get into an accident or do harm to others. My intention is to have fun with him and catch him off guard. I told him if he got caught I was going to get him and he knows somethings coming he just doesn't know what or when.

Unless he totally "fish-bowls" the thing with the windows up, theres no way he'll set it off.

if you don't have a fuse for the windows, you can remove the drivers panel and unplug the harness to the controls, takes less than 5 minutes, then id say turn the heat all the way up and actually unplug the hvac cluster harness. super heat and no ventilation.

*Heat on high OR unplug the temp sensor thats under the key switch.
*unplug the windows and sunroof
*smoke detector...I'd say buy a 6 pack from home depot. stick them one under each seat, glove box, one in each door panel.

maybe if you can hide one behind the driver's head rest!

Stick a smoke alarm under the seat? He smokes it annoys the hell out of him and you tell him he probably damaged something in the truck? I think most of them run off 9v batteries.

as was said, unless the cab is filled with smoke, it wouldn't work.
