Husband got busted payback is a B, help me get him back (please keep in 4th gen)

im gonna go on record as saying that if my significant other did any of these to me, there'd be issues far greater than my smoking in my vehicle

Some of you guys are party poopers……he's not going to drive on flat tires and he knows I have a compressor.

This is all in FUN…...

It's all fun except for the cancer. Oh, and the fact that cigs are, what, $5/pack now?

As a former smoker, I'm probably too sensitive about this . . .

Unless you live in NYC, there is like $10 a pack. Anyways, I guess I'll be the only one to say this (and probably catch a ton of crap for this), but this is like the foolishest thread ever, I'm amazed at how many responses it has received. Well, best of luck with your "prank" I guess. :yo:

for many years i was tortured by my parents, uncles, aunts, and strangers with cig smoke. i hated it, i despised it, its a dirty nasty habit. lots of people probably feel the same way i do, thus the many responses.

plus its all in good fun, its her hubby. she wants the best for him and cancer is not one of them.

if its $10 a pack,
1 pack a day = $70 per week
$280 per month

or

$3650 per year.

Well said...I can't force him to stop smoking so I might as well have fun with him.

In fuse box under the hood, pull the purple starter relay......car wont start and in the fuse box leave a cigarette, a piece of Nicorette gum, ziplock with ashes, etc, etc. You can do this OVER AND OVER and just change what "surprise" you leave him:)

As long as it's "fun", meaning in good spirits. I was just afraid that you'd be too hard on him and it's make things worse in terms of inner stress levels and such (why I smoked in the first place).

I'm sure you've heard it all "Hard to stop." "Just one cig." etc etc, just wanted to point out from a smoker's point of view that when you feel a lot of pressure towards quitting, but to me it made it worse actually. I wasn't able to stop until after I felt the pressure from my ex-girlfriend disappear and I got out of defensive mode and into "thinking/soul searching" mode.

...a piece of Nicorette gum....

That damn stuff is just as addicting as the cigarettes themselves! :) I know it's not a smoking thread sorry, but if anything, all my smoker friends tell me to go to the e-cig rather than the gum for quitting.

@OP, good luck with everything. If you've do pull a prank, please let us know how it goes. Maybe a youtube video is order? :)

I had a few minutes and couldn't find the fuse for the windows in the manual but I did find the fuse for the radio  it showed two and I wasn't sure which was which so I took both!!

Yesterday I took off his shifter knob right before he came outside,

I waited in my runner watching him, He got in started her up and paused,

I was laughing when he looked over and me, he busted up laughing and pointing his finger at me.

If it's got power seats, you could always move the seat either ridiculously far forward and up or completely back and down and then pull the fuse.

Give him a hug and tell him that you love him and smoking will shorten your time together

Of all the things I've read here, this is the best I've seen.

+1 like button for you, good sir!

What caught my eye was this was his first post to the forum.. lol

OP,
not sure what your going for here, it seems like your just interested in some good 4runner related pranks to have fun with your husband not necessarily help him quit smoking or relate it to smoking. I've just recently put down cigarettes after being a 1-2 pack day smoker. Going on 3 weeks smoke free.. I half way agree with this but at the same time if my wife were to try and "prank" me for lighting up I seriously doubt the first thought of mine would be to quit smoking.. it would be more like get even! lol.

So for a list of 4runner related pranks
-(If he noses in the drive way) Take off the license plate, have him deal with getting pulled over,

-take a peice of wire and connect the power signal from the turn signal to the switch side of the horn so that when the turn signal is engaged his horn blows with each blink (least he can choose to not turn the signal on after he realizes the connection opposed to the brake horn idea)

-seafoam the engine but let him start the car without knowing, He'll think the engines blown but you'll actually be performing a bit of light maintenance cleaning the valves and what not.

-take the front bolts out of the driver seat, loosen the rear, when he hits the gas first time he should rock backwards and freak out a bit (like falling backwards in an office chair)

-(+1) for the Window fuse removal with the hvac settings on high and the connector unplugged

-Take a wheel off leave the truck on the bottle jack, leave the wheel, as well leave a ransom note for the lug nuts after hiding them.

-If its 4wd turn the selector to 4lo then unplug the selector, should continuously beep the duration the vehicle is on. You may have to disassemble the selector so that the plug is still plugged in but the selector knob isn't there to turn it back to 4hi.

Smoker related pranks

-take all his lighters, all of them, all the time, break them take all the matches out of the house as well anything that he could use to light the cigarettes.

-(if he buys cigarettes in cartons) saran wrap the ever living mess out of his carton. under the saran wrap ensure frustration with packaging tape. could also use this on individual packs. Basically make him have to destroy the packaging to get to one cigarette.

-get ahold of his cigarettes, remove all the tobaco from them then place them back in the pack as empty cigarettes.

-get ahold of his cigarettes, poke a hole in everyone of them. when he takes a drag most of the smoke will come out of the holes instead of alowing him to inhale. (very frustrating as a smoker to light up a broken cigarette)

If you need more I'm sure we can come up with something else.

Congrats. Stay strong. If I can offer a bit of advice, try to channel your nervous energy into something more constructive than I did. I started drinking a lot, which isn't the best thing to do when quitting smoking. In hindsight I wish I would have started running, biking, hiking, some type of physical activity.

But I didn't cheat and am now going on 20 years w/o a smoke.

Thanks man! Definitely trying to work out more, you'd think if you had enough will power to stop smoking you'd have enough will power to maintain a workout regime but apparently its not so easy lol.

I'm trying to quit drinking regularly as well so kind of cutting out that channel as well, at least during the week days. I was drinking a good 30 pack a week. I've got it down to just a 12 pack over the weekend.

Positive changes for sure!

I only smoke when I'm driving or at work. I never feel the need to smoke when I'm at home.

I can nurse a pack 3-7 days without issues, so I'm not a super heavy user... HOWEVER, I've been driving all day today (from Boston down to the NY border in CT) and working on an FJ gauge cluster project, soooooooo needless to say, I'm almost out of my Winston's and about to grab another pack.. Shame on me, but when I'm driving I need SOMETHING to break the monotony.

I definitely want to quit. It's a process for sure
