Husky Liners

I realize the weathertech/husky liner debate has been discussed in several threads and the overall consensus seems to favour the weathertech's (unless you're a 5th gen owner, the worm has really turned there):

but I'm leaning towards the husky liners because I like how the cargo liner works around the DD system, and they're less expensive. I currently have the OEM all weathers and the fronts are OK, the rears do not cover enough for someone with two young kids who are always trudging in and out of there and the cargo works best with the DD up (which it never is for me)

I'm just wondering if anyone who has bought the husky liners has regretted it and wished they'd bought the weathertechs instead.

I have the rear Husky liner for the DD and no regrets. The only reason I bought the Husky was its superior fit for T4Rs with the DD system and the fit is excellent. If I were you I'd get the Husky for the rear and for the rest of the vehicle buy your favorite. Just my 0.02.
 
I went with all husky liners. I like weather techs, but i was looking to save a few bucks, and i had them on my 3rd gen so i went with the huskys. they have great coverage, and works well with the dd
 
I did the Weathertech up front cause the look cool, and the Husky in the rear. I have the DD and the Husky fits great. I did notice the Husky grey is lighter than the weathertech and the weathertech matches better. Just for what it's worth.
 
I like my Huskeys. Every morning I just pick the giant ice cube up and throw it out, lol. I don't like how the weathertech's have a hole in the middle.
 
i like the weathertech b/c of it's side emblems upfront. Makes it look more OEM especially with the two holes for the holders. Wish it could've said "TRD". lol
 
No regrets with my Husky's. WeatherTech didn't release their set of liners at the time of purchase, but I'm not sure if it would've changed my mind.

IIRC, the WeatherTech cargo liners that are specific for the Double Decker, are designed to go under the DD shelf and they have one that goes above the shelf in the raised position. I believe someone here mentioned the WT DD liner doesn't reach the rear seatbacks of the second row when the DD shelf is lowered.
 
It seems that the weathertechs have holes in the liners, which didn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I ended up getting the husky's because with all skiing, Mt. biking, fishing, hunting, hiking, etc. that I do, it didn't make sense to get liners with a hole for water and mud to get through. The Weathertechs definitely do look OEM (better actually), and they seem to fit great, but that dang hole! I have 0 regrets with husky's, and have gotten my father some, both my brothers some, and I'm on my second rig with them. You really can't go wrong with either!
 
I've got Weathertech's for the front, and will be getting them for the 2nd row and cargo area in the near future. A lot of people see it as a disadvantage, but I am getting the Weathertech's because they do not cover the whole floor. I use the cargo hooks a lot to strap stuff down, and with the Weathertech made for the dd system it leaves these accessible. With the Husky's I had in my 97 4runner, I had to cut slits in the liner for the cargo hooks, and that just defeated the purpose of the liner.

I had Husky liners in my F150 and found them to be very slippery when they got the least bit of moisture on them. Called Husky to see if it may have been a problem with something on the surface and they treated me like an idiot, accusing me of spraying Armor-All on them (and I don't use Armor-All, either!).

Won't buy Husky again after that experience.

Unfortunately, WeatherTech didn't have liners at the time. On the 4Runner I have the WeatherTech cargo liner under the double-decker shelf and it's working fine.
 
i had them in my grand cherokee, & agree they seemed slippery when wet, fit nice tho. i dont know how the newer ones for the 4r are but the huskey liners i had in the jeep seemed to be made from much thinner material than the weathertechs.

That's weird about the Huskys being slippery. Did you ever try cleaning them just to make sure there wasn't any foreign substance on them? I've always found my Huskys to be very "sure-footed" when wet. Also disappointed that they didn't take better care of you as I have always found Husky Liners to be very customer oriented and responsive.

More times that I could count, using a stiff bristle brush to make sure that anything on there was removed. Also used different cleaners in case there was one that worked better than another. In the end, nothing worked.
 
Huskys Front and Back and Toyota Cargo mat (Which looks essentially identical to the Husky and Weathertech) for the DD cargo area.

all fit and look great and best of all zero spillage on carpet!

Hmmm, indeed strange. Perhaps a different batch of materials used in manufacturing. No slipping issues with mine when wet or muddy. It was hazardous when the detailer guy wiped them down with something. Certain types of cardboard boxes do slide around in the cargo area.
 
Oddly enough, the one cleaner that always seems to work well is Windex or 409. Evidently there is something within glass cleaners that neutralize and remove contamination in a manner that leaves the plastic absolutely clean and slippery-free.
 
for who ever asked about the hole in the weathertechs, its there for a reason & is resessed in a way as to limited anything that could seep thru. you can put something over it if your worried about it.

Husky has two different line of front mats:

1)Husky 51023 Front Floor Mats
2)Husky Liners 35513 Floor Mats

I have the 51023 and have never had any slipping problems. They have deep grooves that hold all of the mud and water. They work great.
