Hydrolocked

look for a new motor, preferably diesel, sorry man that blows, maybe set the truck at the top of a hill and send it into a tree at the bottom, jk.

pull plugs, crank motor over till no more water shoots out then do it 30 sec more. if no weird noses while cranking over and no rods through the block you could do a comp test at this time to see if theres a low cylinder might indicate bent rod might be cylinder wash from water.

but all in all crank it over new or dry the spark plugs. get some jumper cables hooked up and start cranking t over once all back together. itll stumble or sound likeit wants to at first. keep at it giving the cables time to cool inbetween 30sec cranking. can put a little MMO or 2 cycle in cylynder to build compression from the water. maybe spray starter fluid while cranking. this is all caus water dosent burn and its still in there.

once it starts stumbling running like 2 cyl running start giving some gas shes going t smoke ALOT and as it clears up itll start running normal after a minute.

Then flush oil once its all good no sense wasting good oil on a junk motor if its toast.

THIS IS ALL PENDING YOUDIDNT THROUGH A ROD BEND A VALVE EPIC F*** THE ENGINE.

what was the senario of the hydrolock? revved WFO or kinda sucked it in and stumbled to a stopthen locked?

Pull the spark plugs and crank it over by hand via a ratchet on the crankshaft pulley. The water or whatever is in there will come out of the spark plug holes. Hopefully you didn't bend a rod, that could depend on whether or not you tried to crank it over and over while it was locked up. How did it happen?

haha that's funny Proz07, we said almost the same thing at almost the same exact time. You were a little more descriptive though.

ya well i had to do it end of last summer so i was kinda up to date on it. lol although you might as well use the starter to crank it over once te plugs are removed cause if it dosent turn over then your screwed anyway so....

good luck though OP

Yeah, I guess the starter is more efficient than turning it by hand and like you say, if it doesn't work you're screwed anyway. OP, just don't burn up the starter if it won't turn over.

Spark plugs out turned it by hand at first, spit out a little water then we tried it with the starter then it turned and shuttered quite violently, I'm wondering why it did this as the spark plugs were out. Is it in ANYWAY possible to lock it after the plugs were out or for the crank to spin a little at all if it was locked?

Thought mine was locked 3 weeks ago too...hope for the best cause mine turned out to be two blown/bent rods. Just got an engine last week for $800 and 105k miles on it.

Got some good news today its turning over with the starter for a certain period of time and started to actually ignite today but it never got fully running due to a constantly dying battery and what I can only imagine being a fail-safe. It would turn-turn-turn-turn-turn then thud stop it did it multiple times, like I said it can be a bent rod or anything like that because each time I tried to turn it over was too inconsistent of each other to be anything like that. Anyone know of such a fail-safe on the 3.4, if it helps the intake wasn't fully on I just hook up the intake to the MAF sensor and left it off the throttle body, also one or two vacuum lines arent connected.

Any ideas?
