Hyper-extended door...

Decoy

New member
Hi everyone...

I opened my Driver* door on a windy day (wind gust 40-45 MPH) and the wind Hyper-extended my door.. there is no damage to the outside body of the door or the fender.. but now my window doesn't go all the way down.. I don't have the time yet to take it to the shop or see if I can fix this myself.. But if anyone here that had the same problem or know about this.. I would like to know the possible price or how to fix on my own?..

The entire door is held on by two hinges, the glass shouldn't be affected even if you "hyper extend" enough to bend the hinges or the pillar they mount on. What could have happened is the glass got knocked out of the run channel. If that's the case you can take the interior trim panel off and re-align the glass. I would think it's an easy fix if there is no damage like you said. Good luck! Hope it's an easy fix. Try a body shop before the stealership. A good shop will pop the interior panel off in 5 mins and see what the problem is. Shouldn't cost much if anything.
