Do you mean those factory running boards? Those are damage enhancers. They'll cause more damage to the body if you ever scrape them. Take those puppies off. :horn:
I suggest looking at true rock sliders for rugged terrain.

I had sliders on my Tacoma and I have them on my TJ Rubicon. For what I want to use the 4Runner for I won't need them. That is another reason I took pictures was to show what it could do "stock". I can run light and medium trails and as long as I run a good line I won't need them. The frame is at the same height as the floorboards and that's why I didn't remove them for the test.

Heeps (JK's) don't use IFS (independent front suspension) so it's really apples to oranges in that regard.

Rubicons also can disconnect their front sways...

Great job for bone stock on those moguls.

Congrats on getting your 4runner out and actually using it off-road. Atrac is pretty good in most moderate situations.
