I did it!!

Bit the bullet and signed on the dotted line at Ray Brandt Toyota in Kenner (in the New Orleans region) for a 2011 T4R SR5-4WD in Mag Gray with charcoal leather interior. It is a big pain to find 4WDs down here in the South but Ray Brandt had it in stock. It had the premium package and moonroof that I was looking for. In addition, they had the running boards, premium mats, ball mount & 3M Paint protection film as factory installed options. In addition the dealer added paint sealant and Nitrogen filled tires, a gimmick in my opinion. The MSRP was $37,620.95 but I was able to walk away with $33,200 + TTL. I had got a price of $33,600 by email from them but then haggled a bit and they lowered it to that number. I think I got a good deal as another dealer emailed me when I had asked him to beat the higher number earlier, that the price was probably for a 2WD and not a 4WD!

It was a pleasure to deal with their Internet Director Charlie Dubord. I suddenly realized that I had bought another car from him a few years ago for my wife when he worked at another dealership. It was pleasant and even my wife remarked that "that was easy!" after the deal was made. My recommendation is to give Charlie a holler for anyone looking for a Toyota in the south.

Very excited as expected :)

Sounds like a good deal, lets see some pictures. You have an SR5 with leather interior? Is that an option or did someone order it from the factory like that??

Thank you. The weather is terrible out here, will get pics when it is a little more bearable to get outside.

It is the SR5-4WD with the premium (leather package) and was in stock at the dealer.

Thanks.

I did it too!

We are an elite group. 4X4 trucks are a"dime a dozen" here in S. La., but I have never seen a 4X4 SUV. I bought my TE at Ray Brandt also(found it on the internet). A dealer in BR had one but they wanted $46K and would not come off of the price. Both dealers told me that Toyota SENDS them the vehicles for display and they don't have a whole lot of choice, which is why each ended up with a TE. The dealer in BR ended up sending theirs to another state for sale. The salesman at Ray Brandt said that they were afraid that they would get "stuck" with a 4wd SUV or that they would not be able to recover their expenses if it were sent to another dealer. They sold it to me at invoice price (which I was also able to get on the internet before my visit to the dealer). People in their right minds simply don't put a 4wd SUV in these bottomless swamps (I drive mine to SW Colorado 3 times/year). Sometimes you can find a deal in rare places!

Congratulations! I have the exact truck in black... love it! Now the real spending begins :D

You Americans are lucky, the 4runner is such a low volume vehicle in Canada you almost always have to order to get what you want, I waited 3 months for mine! The idea of picking on up off the lot seems crazy to me. Then again you probably don't have someone asking you what it is almost every time you fill up with gas!

They are also lucky their cost is $ 10,000.00 less than ours with the dollar at par. I still can't figure that one out.

The Canadian Limited includes running boards....$10,000 running boards I guess! I was looking at buying a used 2010 Limited from the US, but the price difference really wasnt that great, and it was difficult finding a 4x4. I would be surprised if you could even find a 2WD in Canada.

Yeah, I feel the pain. just over 50k once I paid tax... :( I don't really worry about it too much, but that's basically the case with everything - we seem to pay 25% more plus extra tax.

Congrats on the new ride man! It good to see more and more 4Runner guys down here. Some of my friends on TacomaWorld and I started a group for Toyota Truck owners down here in Louisiana. It's mostly Taco guys but it is growing. If any of you all are on Facebook look up Cajun Tacos and show us your ride.

P.S. I love that mag gray:bravo:

congrats and welcome to the mag gray side. premium pkg here too and glad I made that choice. Love it.

All that for 33,200 sounds like a steal.
