I Found One!

Hi everyone! I come from having a '95 Tacoma followed by an '05. The '05 was TRD Off Road with Icon suspension, off-road bumpers, and various mods ... It was recently in a wreck and totaled.

I decided to look at moving to a t4r and was leaning toward a 4th gen until doing some reading in these forums. Decided on looking for a 3rd gen and found EXACTLY what I was looking for in a very short time!!!

Got a hold of a 2000 SR5 with manual transmission and rear diff lock. It's in great shape! I'm super excited and happy that the t4r forum exists! I plan to install TC UCA's, front coil-overs, tube bumper front and rear, 33's and more.

Welcome to the t4r 3rd gen club. That looks like a clean runner. Congrats on finding a 3rd gen 5-speed with e-locker, rare find and great base to start with. Looking forward to seeing this build.

Welcome! Great find! I always liked the silver on our 4Runners. Incredibly good find between the 5 speed and the e-locker! I see awesome things in this Runner's future!

SL28, how many miles and what did you end up paying if you dont mind me asking? I am in the market for the exact same spec 4Runner, however, came across a 1998 manual SR5 4WD with 114k miles... owner is asking $4500.

That's a good deal if the maintenance is up to date. I just bought a 99 manual with 184k miles for $5500. I know I paid a little more than I should have but I'm really happy with my purchase.

Thanks, guys. It's in great shape.

170,000 miles, but you honestly wouldn't know it. It's a true one owner vehicle with a THICK folder of documentation for every fluid change (motor oil, diffs, t-case, transmission, etc.), timing belt change, windshield repair / replace, etc.

The Toyota tax in Colorado is high but worth it for this one. It came from Japan to Denver - no road salt / frame rust. I'm very happy with it.

And yes, the build with pics will most certainly come. :thumb3:

Tax in CO?

I ended up picking up that 98 in the previous post... I live in San Antonio, TX but am moving to CO Springs next month... should I register it here and pay Texas taxes (6.25%) or wait until I get to CO?
