Joking aside, I can kind of see where the ladies are coming from. Tell her that luxury cars are for little boys. Trucks are for the real men. If you want a man, this is what they drive!

I am a lady and that makes no sense to me... a real man can drive any vehicle because he is confident enough in his own "manhood" that he doesn't need a truck or any "manhood enhancing" items... listen to how fragile you just made the concept of manliness, a truck makes you manly, a modded truck even more manly? hmmmm... you did that i didnt... :rip: your manhood if you drive anything but a truck, more mods means more manly, per yotaflame...

I get a ton of compliments on mine, had four random people stop by during the hour and a half I was putting my rack on to ask me about it, or just say they loved it. 99.9% of all compliments have come from dudes, so that might be your problem. The .1% was my wife. ^ I also agree with what was said above, this forum might be 99% dudes but some of those comments are definitely offensive to the 1%. Not that you have to be politically correct on the internet, but it doesn't hurt to be considerate once in a while.

It probably has something to do with the fact that you are a 32 year old dating a 24 year old who is obviously in a completely different place in her life. Maybe it was the way your post showed disdain for her in your post because she questioned your choice in vehicle, but justified using her because you find her attractive... even the response I quoted is sexist.

If you really have to ask why a 24 year old girl might not be in awe of a Toyota 4Runner, then we won't be able to explain it to you.

im actually not the sensitive type, but i am the type to call out degradation when its happening (joking or not, because we all know joking has an effect subliminally whether we agree to recognize it or not).

also, many recommend that you get to play in the dirt with your 4runner in stock form so you actually figure out what you want instead of blindly purchasing with what you think you need. but hey its your money and not mine so do with it what you want.

and its funny that you say im being "uppity" when thats how the girl you took on a date was, and im letting you know how a down to earth woman views this thread. let your mom read it and let me know what she thinks of what you are posting here, or a good female friend, or your sister, or any woman who will get within 10ft of you. and i feel like she might agree that this thread is not very welcoming of women. and thats all im pointing out.

and yes, it is actually my money, isn't it? i've got a lot of it tucked away and i make a lot of it at my job. i guess that means i have certain luxuries. what am i going to do, take it to the offroad park and make exact calculations so i can apply them to products that i have no experience with?

also, you obviously don't know anything about my life or my family. two of my best friends are lesbian and i share ALL details of every story like they were guys (no, they're not butch). and you know what? the don't give a shit. wanna know why? because it's not that serious and most of the time they share the same sentiment. the same could be said about all of my girl friends, of which i have many. it's called a sense of humor, we dish it out and we take it. the only time it gets weird is when someone gets all sensitive.
