Friday night some guy in a nova ran a stop sign and t-boned my 4runner. I am now without my 4runner cause it's in the shop, the isurance people said that it is fixable but it will cost around $9,000 dollars. I am really pissed off. I was just wondering what would any of you do if this was your 4runner. My insurnce said it was this guys fault.

If it's not totaled, I would just get my car fixed and have the two insurance companies battle it out. Sorry to hear the bad news, but at least you and your passengers are okay. My sister's friend was in a similar accident a few days ago, and sadly for her, she broke her ribs and has some internal bleeding. Good luck with the damages, and I hope your insurance company will be successful against the other guy.

I have a 2001. If I was hit with $9,000 damage, I guess I would get it fixed. It sure hurts when your rig is broken. The two big concerns I have are 1.) is the frame bent and what can they do about it and 2.) are they going to use Toyota replacement parts. Here is GA they don't have to use manufactures parts and unforunately I have been hit a few times, my Acura Integra was hit 4 times, once by a GA State Patrol Officer, in all 4 times it was thier fault and they would not pay for Acura parts, each time I would pay a little more and have the correct part put on the car. Sometimes you can get a used part or try and work with the repair shop.

I don't know how CA is, here in GA the person who is at fault pays for the repairs. Either way, check on what type of replacemnt part they use, the off brand replacement parts usually are pretty bad. Repair shops even say off brand replacement parts suck.....

I am really sorry this happened to you, it really sucks.

i'm in ga as well and got hit about a year ago. i raised a stink with the other guy's insurance co (he got the ticket) and they paid for a complete new toyota driveline (everything between the rear wheels), as well as paid for a yukon as a rental while my truck was in the shop - which took ~ a month to fix.

squeaky wheels get the grease! .... or new parts. :P

The frame is not bent luckily. But this guy is uninsured. My insurance company said that either way he will pay, either he has to pay for the damages or the inurance company will help me file a lawsuit. The local P.D. found some witnesses and they all said that it was the other guys fault.

Man that blows...I can't imagine how I would feel if I were in your shoes. You seem pretty calm but I'm afraid they would still be trying to peel me off the walls.

Anyway I hope they throw the book at this guy. Good Luck...Hope it all works out for you.
