I got motivated...this is what happened..

I bought my 96 Runner which was bone stock, as much as it looked good the way it was I cant have anything that looks the same as anyone else so the last 3days I got MOTIVATED...I tore off the tow bar and running boards, got new tires, tore off the front and rear bumpers and grill, and then pulled off the wheels and decided to start a little painting project...the pictures will tell the rest of the story...

Bro huh? Haha Im a girl....so more like sis but thanks and I used truck bed spray liner since the other paint I used failed miserably...I like it way better then dinged up crome and Im pretty sure my other chopped runner doesnt look like everyone elses...

What did you use?

I used rustoleum bed liner in a spray can. I sanded everything down before hand.

Another sista here... but not thinking I can talk shop with ya. I've done mods myself but not to the extent that you've done. Nice work! Guess I might be what you'd call a 'mall crawler' and don't mod my runner for roading.

I wanted to do my valance and grill today and nothing went as planned. I got the bumper off with the valance still attached, but the bolts and receiving tabs did not want to cooperate whatsoever. When I turned the bolt the tabs would screw up the valance. I got to looking at it and decided screw it, I am going to get a new one, this one is warped and I found a crack too.

Toyota Dealership wanted $230 for a new one! But I found one on ebay for 36 bucks free shipping.

So I started to do the grill, taped it off and did the center only. It looked great!! Then I start looking at the chrome on the grill and it is all scratched and marred up. I didn't like only half of the grill looking like new, so I decided to just paint the whole thing. But now I hate it. I liked the chrome better.

I am going to keep the chrome trim, because it will go nice with the Pro Comp rims I am going to get. So now I am going to search for a new grill.
